💜Today is HPV Awareness Day! 💜
9 out of 10 cases of cervical cancer in Ireland are linked to HPV.
You can reduce your risk by:
💜Attending your cervical screening appointments
💜Getting any symptoms checked as soon as possible
💜If you are under 16 and want to get the HPV vaccine, you can get the vaccine through your school or a HSE clinic.

The Laura Brennan catch-up programme widens the branch of people who can avail of the HPV vaccine to .... females age 16 to 24 years and males age 16 or older who started 1st year of secondary school, homeschool or a special school between 2019 and 2021!

Today is International 💜
Over 45,000 people in Ireland are diagnosed with epilepsy! That's why its important that everyone knows what to do if they witness an epileptic seizure.
Remember these 3 key words; TIME, SAFE, STAY.
1. TIME the seizure. If a seizure lasts over 5 minutes call an ambulance! ⏱
2. Keep the person SAFE. Remove any sharps objects, furniture from the area. Cushion their head with something soft and flat like a jacket or blanket. NEVER PLACE ANYTHING IN THE PERSON'S MOUTH!
3. STAY with the person even after the seizure has ended. Help them into the recovery position and wait until they feel comfortable to get up. 😊
If you have any concerns/ doubts/ have never known this person to have seizures before call an ambulance. 📞
