Massive Congratulations to our 2024 Sligo Rose Megan McCormack and her Gurteen Celtic Teammates who have won the Connacht Cup this afternoon. Our amazing 2024 Sligo Rose Megan McCormack recently marched down 5th Avenue in New York City for the St Patricks Day parade. She was joined by her rose and es**rt class of 2024. The Sligo Flags were proudly waved by some of her friends and family who joined in with the celebrations. Megan has well and truly put Sligo on the map over the last year. Even the GAA president wanted a picture with her 🌹🌹

Our amazing Sligo Rose Megan McCormack has travelled to New York to celebrate St Patricks Day along with her Rose sisters and Rose Es**rts. This is always such a special time for all the International Roses as they represent their counties overseas. They will all march in the NYC St Patricks day parade later on today. We wish Megan all the best as she makes memories to last a lifetime 🌹🌹

Our Amazing Sligo Rose 🌹 Megan McCormack 🌹makes her Official Homecoming from the Kingdom of Kerry this Sunday at 3pm where we invite You and Your Family to gather your Sligo Flags, Jerseys and Everything You have that's Black & White to meet her Cavalcade at Edmondstown Cross where we will accompany Megan and her family on the route down by the Windmills into Gurteen Cross and Onwards to the Church Yard.

Megan will then host a Meet and Greet with Photos, Music & Craic for Everyone at the Róisín Dubh Traditional Pub in Gurteen Village. Come Along and Celebrate Megan's Unforgettable Performance in the Dome in Tralee 🌹

So the dust has settled on the 2024 Rose of Tralee International Festival. What an amazing week in Tralee. The people of Sligo travelled in their numbers to support our amazing Sligo Rose Megan McCormack. Massive thanks to O’Carroll’s Bridge Lane @ The James Hotel for being such wonderful hosts and adopting the Sligonians for the week ❤️

It has been an absolute pleasure watch Megans journey from that night she was selected as Sligo Rose back in April to the moment she stepped on stage with Kathryn Thomas during the Live Tv shows of The 2024 Rose of Tralee.

Megan has been an amazing ambassador for Sligo and she has made her family, friends, community, sponsors and the county of Sligo so so proud. She never once stopped smiling as she posed for pictures and signed autographs for the little kids who gazed at her with such joy. It is hard to describe the emotions felt when Megan read her poem on Stage. You could hear a pin drop in the Dome as her family and friends beamed with pride struggling to hold back the tears. That is what this amazing festival does to you and Im sure Megan has made friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. Massive thanks to Megans Rose Es**rt, Colin Palmer for looking after her all week ❤️

Congratulations Keely O'Grady, our 2024 International Rose of Tralee!

"Kia ora and Dia dhuit! I’m a 21-year-old, fourth-year student at Canterbury University, studying a Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy. I have recently completed a placement at a special needs school for children with autism. I hope to work in the healthcare or disability sector, helping children to communicate effectively. I love New Zealand, where I was born and raised by my Irish father and Kiwi mother. I live in Christchurch with seven of my best friends. I cherish a typical Kiwi lifestyle, enjoying beach trips, exploring the cities, and taking advantage of the outdoors, especially snowboarding, and road-tripping with friends. I dream of world travel, as there is so much to explore and learn. Irish dancing has been my passion since I started at age five. I am a six-time NZ National Champion and attended the Dublin World Irish Dancing Championships as the TIDA Scholarship Recipient. My lifelong goal is to perform with a show and tour worldwide. I draw inspiration from my family and friends who cheer me on in everything I do! I am passionate about advocating for people’s rights and aim to make a positive mark on people’s lives."
