CHIROPRACTIX CHIROPRACTORS TREAT MORE THAN JUST THE SPINE…
It is a common misconception that qualified chiropractors only treat the spine, however throughout the 4-6 years of university, chiropractors learn how to adjust extremities, provide all major soft tissue techniques (e.g. Graston Technique, Dry Needling, muscle Stripping, Active Release Technique, Trigger Point Therapy), taking X-rays of the spine as well as all body parts, use Electrotherapy Treatments and Machinery, Rehabilitation protocols, and have a medical based background studying the same subjects as our medical counterparts for the first 4 years of study, in order to be able to direct patients to the appropriate treatment modality and professional who is best suited for their care.
Our Team are qualified to fully assess extremity conditions such as frozen shoulder/adhesive capsulitis, carpal and tarsal tunnel syndromes, patellar tracking issues, knee and hip arthritic conditions, plantar fasciitis and many more extremity related conditions. We always check the spine as the nerve supply to these areas originate from the spine and the peripheral provides a pathway that takes information back to the brain. (Nerves have a sensory function I.e. hot, cold, numbness, pins and needles, and pain sensations as well as a motor function which is muscle tension and relaxation).
This is why it is important to find the root cause of a complaint whether it be originating from an extremity joint or muscle, or a referred from the spine to the extremity.
