Broadmeadow Healthcare Group are Nursing Home Operators who also provide Advisory and Management Services to Nursing Home Owners and Managers, and Nursing Care service providers, to achieve clinical, regulatory and commercial performance objectives and improvements. We are an established Healthcare Services Provider in Ireland and to emerging markets in the Middle East and South-East Asia. We bring our experience of Care of the Older Person across all care environments, with the emphasis on Person Centred Care and Home-from-Home care environment . Using our experience, methodologies and tools, we strive to underwrite the Specialist Facilities, Standards, Governance and Resources required to deliver Quality Healthcare and improved Quality of Life to all Nursing Home residents. In Ireland, there is already a very public awareness of the shortage of Nursing Home beds and a significantly growing demand as the over 65 population doubles in the next 10 years. With the compulsory enforcement of the National Quality Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People in Ireland as set out by the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA)), this is directly impacting the supply of available beds, at the same time as the increase in capacity is required. The pressure on all Nursing Home Owners/Operators to comply with these Standards in order to retain their current capacity is constant. The need to develop new capacity is critical to meet increased demographic changes that Ireland is facing.

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland's Bray to Wexford cycle last weekend was a great success. A tough 120km in temperatures well into the 20's, strong winds, but through some of the most beautiful parts of Wicklow and Wexford with a great team of cyclists. Thanks to all who supported our CEO-Fran Whelan and his cycling partner Des Hurley and this great cause. Without your support the Society would not be able to deliver its great Alzheimer's awareness campaigns and training programmes.

Light and Shine.

‘Light and Shine’ served as another astounding success for both Eimear Farrell and ARTzheirmer’s at The Civic Theatre, Tallaght opened their doors for the 6th ARTzheirmer’s exhibition on the 20th of March. Support for the social enterprise was evident as many people gathered on opening night to support and experience the provoking art exhibition, raising awareness to the complex issues and consequences for those living with Alzheimer’s. This Exhibition exudes the overwhelming connection between art and the awareness the societal issue of Alzheimer’s.
ARTzheimer’s is a social enterprise, founded by Eimear Farrell in 2014. It uses the medium of art to provoke bold and brave conversations about Alzheimer’s. Light and Shade alludes to the complex issues for those living with, and experiencing symptoms of, Dementia. ARTzheimer’s ultimately aims to humanise Dementia.
To date, ARTzhimer’s have collaborated with over 200 Irish and International Artists, ranging between the ages of 7 to 74. The social enterprise brings the conversation about Alzheimer’s disease into a classroom and community setting so that we begin to educate and inspire young people to highlight the ongoing issues and stigma.
Their vision is twofold - firstly, they want to give people permission to speak openly about Alzheimer’s and to educate and remove the stigma and secondly, to trigger a positive change in the care system enabling people of all ages to become changemakers.
