It's with deep sadness, we share the funeral details of our dear friend and colleague, Craig Sweetman.

Since joining our force in September 1998, Craig was a shining example of professionalism, dedication, and kindness. His thoughtful nature and attention to detail set a high standard for everyone he worked alongside.

This dedication was also mirrored in his love for cycling over the years he worked with us both nationally and internationally.

Craig was more than a colleague—he was a devoted husband, a loving father and son, and a loyal friend. His absence is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our hearts and thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

SWEETMAN, Craig (Skerries, Co. Dublin and Mornington. Co. Meath) - July 20th, 2025, (suddenly) at home. Late of Stamullen R.C. and Dublin Airport Police and Fire Authority. Dublin Airport fire service and Cork Airport Police / Fire & Rescue with assistance of their colleagues in the National Ambulance Service (NAS) had a very successful day teaching hands only CPR to staff and the traveling public in the departure areas of terminal 1 and terminal 2 in Dublin and departures area of Cork airport. They managed to teach and engage with thousands of adults and children with this massive event in aid of the 3 daa Staff charities of the year. Critical - Emergency Medical Response , Edel House, Good Shepherd Cork. Little Blue Heroes raising a grand total of €4198, we would like to thank all those who volunteered and to everybody who engaged with us through a very busy day. Early CPR is the main reason for good outcomes in sudden cardiac arrest and the chance of survival is reduced by 8% for every minute CPR is delayed. If this weekend helps save only 1 life the hard work was worth it. ❤️

We want to wish PF Dave O'Reilly the very best of luck in his retirement. Having joined the APFS in January 1980 he has left a last impression on all who worked with him.
