Hi Everyone, my next sensory processing video (When sensory processing goes wrong) is almost ready, but I would really like to hear from you what videos you would like me to work on next. Here are a few ideas, but I would much prefer to hear about what matters to you:
1. Regulation: how to help children identify their sensory and emotional regulation, create ways to communicate these effectively and create tools to help children calm or regulate.

2. Growth Mindset - how to help your children develop a mindset that encourages a positive self-esteem, accepts mistakes as learning tools and encourages effort, perseverance and resilience.

3. Individual sensory systems - what they are, how they impact on function and how to help when things don't go as expected.

4. Emotional literacy - helping children understand and communicate how they are feeling and creating appropriate responses to these.

5. Specific skills, e.g. social skills, attention, handwriting, etc.

6. Any others that are important to you - please be specific so I can meet these to the best of my ability.

Hello everyone! We hope that you are all doing ok with getting back online for school today. We are re-posting a stress management post which may be useful as we head into this new phase of learning with our kids, and managing their expectations and regulation over the next few weeks. We are open for in person sessions as we are an essential service, so give us a call if you wish to talk to us about arranging sessions. Keep thinking of the light at the end of the tunnel, we will get through these strange times all together!

It's the midterm and it's time to take stock and chill out. NEPs developed the following poster which is available from the Department of Education and Skills, which gives us some ideas of how to take a break. Taking breaks is essential to maintain our regulation and keep our engine running 'just right'.
