This is what inflammation looks like! Mad, isn't it?! I was doing a castor oil pack on my left arm as I have been treating what is known as SIRVA (Shoulder Injury Related to Vaccine Administration). This can happen when the nurse puts the needle in too deep or too high into the deltoid muscle tissue. Unfortunately, it is quite common. The body responds with symptoms of bursitis, tendinitis, and frozen shoulder. It is very painful and debilitating. I still have limited mobility and stiffness in the shoulder, but the pain is gone! The mobility and stiffness are slowly getting better. I have been using a combination of my topical Fly agaric and Datura pain cream and spray, an anti-inflammatory herbal tincture, visits to an osteopath, and massage and dry needling from my amazing friend .
But let's talk about castor oil packs. Castor oil is an AMAZING anti-inflammatory! It draws out inflammation to the surface of the skin. Hence, the mottling you see on my arm! The white areas are free of inflammation. The red is where the inflammation has been drawn out. It will be washed away through the body's detox channels. I recommend castor oil packs for joint, muscle, and tendon/ligament injuries and period pain. A "pack" actually isn't a pack at all. I just smear castor oil on the inflamed area, place a wet wash cloth on the skin and then put a hot water bottle on top. Make sure to have a cover for your hot water bottle so you don't burn your skin! Some people use square flannels (cloths) and dip them in castor oil and apply, but I find that way too messy. Either way, it's super effective! My arm and shoulder are a million times better and slowly healing.πΏπ
