Commercial Airline Pilot Goes Into Cardiac Arrest

The Airbus A350's crew tried to revive the 59-year-old after he lost consciousness, but he was confirmed dead before the plane landed. A spokesperson said he had no known prior health problems.

In a positive turn of events, Dr Paul Murphy and the team at South Beach Clinic reached out to offer to replace this defibrillator. This act of pure generosity and kindness has solidified my appreciation for the amazing community we live in. It was not their responsibility in the slightest, but this was done purely out of generosity. So, I want to express my own gratitude ans that of the Greystones Community First Responders. This was unexpected and very much appreciated.

The damaged AED was removed and replaced and thanks to Dr Paul and team, we will now be looking to place another public access AED in the town.

PUBLIC ACCESS DEFIBRILLATOR
- County Mayo.

Out and about on a Bank Holiday it’s always brilliant to be able to carry out a defibrillator check on one of the thousands of AEDs we have helped deploy around Ireland since 2004.

In this case it was a service check on a defibrillator in its home for the past five years of old telephone box.

It’s great to see these disused telephone boxes getting a new life especially when it’s a defibrillator we supplied. This defibrillator is in County Mayo and part of the local Public Access Scheme provided by the local community.
