Susan's experience & background

Susan is a Mum of three children which prompted her own journey to look at her own relationship with her family and herself. Susan is finishing at present a Masters in Co-Creational Psychotherapy and holds a HDip in Co-Creational Counselling in addition to her Communication and Parenting Mentoring qualification. Susan holds Certificate in Childcare Management,
Advanced Reflexology, Reiki, Integrated Energy Therapy. Her unique delivery offers an opportunity to engage and and explore in a safe environment whether it's an 8 week course, lunch time course or talks. She has facilitated workshops, courses and talks which include Cuan Mhuire, ICA and Support Groups and discussed topic on Radio. Susan offers individuals and groups who are experiencing psychological or emotional distress within their particular relationship worlds the understanding, emotional and social safety that’s essential to cope with the challenges and difficulties in relationships. The greatest need for every human being is to love, to be loved, to belong and for these very reasons we are always in relationship, both with ourselves and others. Our relationship with Self determines our relationship with others. It is the quality of these relationships within rather than between individuals that is the main focus of Co-Creational Counselling/Psychotherapy. As we all have experienced, when our relationships pose threats to us, we very wisely, albeit unconsciously, create defences to protect ourselves. These defences manifest in many different forms, for example, through relationship conflict, addictions such as drink, drugs or over work and illness. Co-Creational Counselling/Psychotherapy helps create the emotional, relational and social safe holding to explore the metaphorical meaning and intention of these protective behaviours. In so doing it brings to a conscious level what our real needs are and helps us to express ourselves in an open rather than defensive way, enabling the shift to authentic living. Creating this shift from unconscious living to conscious living in turn helps create maturity at a personal, interpersonal and societal level. Susan's' aim is to provide a sensitive, non-judgmental and holistic approach that empowers individuals to discover within themselves mature ways to resolve the causes of conflict, disruption or interruption in their relationship worlds. Co-Creational Counselling/Psychotherapy is a non-directive co-creational approach that is grounded in philosophy and psychology from Socrates to Freud, Jung, Rogers, Lake, Winnicott and Bowlby. Also with the advances in neuroscience which have proved the importance of relationships, the Self as Creator is a concept of Relationship Mentoring.
