It has been brought to our attention the frustration the local sheep farmers are experiencing on the Galtee mountains at the moment. There has been many incidents of dog walkers not putting their dogs on a leash which has resulted in the BANNING OF ALL DOGS on the mountain as the farmers are being verbally abused and their livestock are suffering.
There has been a lamb stolen by walkers which was witnessed and the Garda Síochána are now involved.
If this disrespect continues the farmers will close off their lands for all walkers. Please contact us if you witness any such incidents and any footage will be greatly received.

While Tankerstown NS dates back to 1866, a very important amalgamation happened October 1st 1973.
Ardane NS closed its doors for the final time on the 28th of September 1973 and amalgamated with Tankerstown NS to form a new central school at its current site.

School days have an impact on every child and hundreds of children have come through the doors here in Tankerstown NS since 1973.

We are very conscious that some people don’t have the opportunity to come back to their own school if they don’t have a child or a grandchild attending.

Also, it is important to say to those that attended Ardane NS pre 1973, our school is your school. You may not have physically attended here but the spirit of your school is incorporated in the spirit of our school as it stands now. 

Therefore, on Sunday October 22 from 2 to 4 pm we cordially invite anyone from the community who would like to call in to the school to join us and have a cuppa and share the chats and the memories.

And even if you are regular visitor, please call in if you are free!
Can I ask that you might spread the word please if you can to anyone who you think might enjoy this.

Today is National Alzheimers Tea Day and we look forward to welcoming you to St Martha's for a cuppa and treats between 2pm _ 4pm.

As many of you know we have wound down our work here with teenagers and adolescents as we reached capacity and no longer had space to take anyone else on and no longer take referrals for u18s.

We are now trying to comprise a working list of local Counsellors/Psychotherapists who work with u18s, local to Tipperary that we can refer to as a few of our referral pathways are also at capacity and no longer taking referrals.

We would greatly appreciate you recommend anyone who you can genuinely say you know has worked well with a young person you know, someone kind, compassionate, understanding, well trained and experienced and who genuinely loves working with young people so we can look at referring over to safe hands. Ideally CBT based and online is also optional.

Please DM us or tag them below as we have a large number of people/parents waiting for us to get back to redirect to the right people 🥰

Following on from last Mondays RTE investigates unregulated Psychologists documentary I haven't had any opportunity to post my qualifications and accreditations as so many of us have chosen to do in solidarity with our accreditation bodies to show those of us who are doing our best to follow all the guidelines and standards set.
I am not a Psychologist so don't carry out clinical assessments and report writing for clients or work with children seeking these.

We work therapeutically to heal and support clients but just to clarify I work as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist and we are also still unregulated.

I won't go on a speel but I have taken a photo of the ones I have here in the office in frames etc.

My accreditation is with the APCP (Association of Professional Counsellors & Psychotherapists in Ireland, all accreddited members have minimum degree level training in the discipline) www.APCP.ie it is sent for approval for reacredditation every 3 years upon submitting documentations and we must renew yearly with logs of supervision, clinical work and continuous professional, of which have amassed a very large amount of hours since my initial accreditation almost 10 years ago.

I am also a certified member of EMDR all Ireland which supports my clinical work of clients presenting and working through trauma using EMDR and I receive supervision monthly specifically for this also along with log keeping and CPD here.

Anyway just for transparency as I know this can be very worrying for people who place their trust in us and also very frustrating for us when we genuinely dedicate so much of our lives to this work 💔

This is such a special day and gift to the staff for all their hard work on the frontline throughout these trying few years we had. A very big token of gratitude from their lovely boss lady Mairead Arra Vet ❤
