Do you suffer with dehydrated skin?
The easiest way to find out, have clean skin, look in the mirror and press upwards on your cheek - if your skin looks crepey, then it is dehydrated 🙈
Dehydrated skin causes collagen and elastin to breakdown, which results in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as sagging and dull-looking skin, and sometimes redness and sensitivity; never mind the other side effects it has on the rest of the body, like brain-fog, tiredness, dizziness, strong smelling urine, bags under your eyes (which ain't Gucci), swelling and bloating, headaches, muscle-cramps, and heart palpitations
So what can we do to help alleviate the effects of dehydration? And have our skin looking dewy, plump and firm?
🪷 Drink 2litres of water daily (if you're taking medication or if you suffer with kidney or bladder problems - always consult your doctor first)
🪷 Eat hydrating food, aka foods with a high water content, such as Watermelon, Strawberries, Pineapple, Cucumbers, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Zucchini, Peaches, Celery, Oranges, Apples, Peppers and Grapefruit
🪷 If you are prone to excess sweating, consider adding electrolytes to your water, such as Dioralyte
🪷 Use a hyaluronic acid serum, such as Killarney Organic Rose Hyaluronic Acid Serum. Hyaluronic acid can hold 1,000 times its own weight in water, so this is a super product for your skincare routine, because it really allows you to pack the moisture into the skin cells
🪷 Use a moisturiser that will drip feed your skin with moisture for 24hours, such as Trilogy Ultra Hydrating Face Cream for day time and Killarney Organic Moisture Extreme Recovery Balm at night
🪷 Use a spray toner a few times over the day, this can be applied over make-up or on bare skin, and will quench your dehydrated skin. I would recommend either Trilogy Hydrating Mist Toner, or Killarney Organic Neroli Floral Water Toner
🪷 Having regular tailored facials - every 4-6 weeks, will also help you to tackle dehydration, so book your appointment today to avoid disappointment
