Fiona Is delighted to look after clients previously seen in Fairies Cross Medical Centre or those attending classes. Fiona Costello is an experienced Chartered Physiotherapist specialising in Musculoskeletal conditions, exercise prescription, dry needling, Pilates & hydrotherapy. Her career began in Glasgow Caledonian University graduating in 2003 top of her year with First Class Honours. Experience with the HSE, private practice in New Zealand and many further education training courses set the foundation to establish her physiotherapy private practice in Fairies Cross Medical Centre in 2006. Following 19.5 successful years there it is time for a change of pace and lifestyle. Fiona now works from home, Clahane, Tralee while Mark Thompson continues his full time clinic from Fairies Cross Medical Centre. Fiona is delighted to look after her existing client base in morning hours leaving afternoons free for family and sporting commitments! She offers manual therapy, education, exercise prescription, dry needling, orthotic prescription, chest physiotherapy, elderly mobility exercise prescription, neurological rehabilitation, orthopaedic paediatric physiotherapy, MS Ireland contract sessions, Pilates courses online, hydrotherapy and aquajogging classes.

Are you a mum or caregiver with a small child still using a Buggy? Would you like a physical activity programme that gets you out and active with your child in tow? We have something for you!!!!
Buggy Buddies is a four-week walking programme for mums and other caregivers to participate in with their little ones in their buggy. The programme aims to help individuals, with young kids, get out and ease back into movement. It will also be a great chance to meet other mums and get moving in a group.

What will the programme entail 🤔
Our tutor will guide you through:
Gentle warm-up and mobility exercises
Group walk with your buggies
Cool down and relaxation exercises

Our Story

Fiona Costello graduated with First Class Honours in 2003 from Glasgow Caledonian University. She won awards for best clinical placement, best research honours project and best overall student. She worked in Kerry General Hospital and private practices in New Zealand before establishing the physiotherapy clinic in Fairies Cross Medical Centre in 2006. Fiona has gained extensive experience through many professional development courses in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and exercised based therapy. She is an APPI trained Pilates instructor, and qualified Hydrotherapist, teaching deep water Aquajogging classes 4 times per week in Tralee Sports Complex.

Mark Thompson joined forces with Fiona in 2019 to fill the case load of Claire Qiunlan when she left for travel. Mark has 10 years Chartered Physiotherapy experience after completing his Masters in physiotherapy in Edinburgh. prior to this he has a degree in strength and conditioning. Mark gained extensive Pirvate practice experience in Scotland and ran his own Private Practice in England. He has worked for several years as a contract physiotherapist for the Scottish international rugby team. For family reasons and a Tralee native wife he has settled in Tralee with his family and will continue to complement Fiona in Fairies Cross to provide quality physiotherapy and APPI Pilates instruction.
