We unfortunately must CANCEL any prebooked appointments for tomorrow January 6th. Several of our staff will be unable to get to work. Those of us closer will have to see what conditions are like in the morning and be able to travel safely. I will keep you updated. Stay safe everyone.

We are devastated this week after the loss of our wonderful colleague Dr Michael McGrath. Dr Pat English captured the feeling of our community. Our thoughts are with his wife Margaret, daughter Rosanna, the McGrath and O’Neill families and all at Carraig Medical Centre. He is greatly missed.

Tributes were paid to Dr Michael Francis McGrath during his Funeral Mass on Friday morning at St John the Baptist Church in Tralee.

As a new year begins I would like to pay tribute to our late colleague Dr Liam Hayes who sadly passed away on 23rd of December. I worked alongside Liam when I first moved to Tralee in 2009. He was a wonderful colleague. He had a huge appetite for the science of medicine and a love of his patients that was inspirational to me. He was supportive and encouraging of my love of ongoing education. He also had a great sense of humour and I still can hear his great laugh!
When Liam retired I was fortunate to inherit his patients. Big shoes for me to fill. His patients loved him and spoke so highly of him. Thankfully his loyal secretary Antoinette came along with the patients to ease the change. Antoinette had enjoyed working with Dr Hayes for many years, with many fond memories.
He will be greatly missed. Our sincerest sympathies to his wife Pat and sons John, David, Philip and James.

PRESCRIPTION REMINDER
A reminder to our patients: please check that you have your prescriptions up to date and filled for the Christmas period. We would appreciate if prescription requests could be made as early in the week as possible. It’s an exceptionally busy time for our reception staff and we thank you for your patience and consideration.
