šŸ§¬šŸ‚ Why Autumn is the Ideal Time for Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) šŸ‚šŸ§¬

As we transition into autumn, our bodies adapt to seasonal changes such as cooler temperatures, reduced daylight and increased exposure to seasonal viruses. Supporting your lymphatic system at this time of year can make a significant difference to overall wellbeing.

Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) is a specialist technique that focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes in the feet. This gentle method is designed to:

šŸ”¬ Encourage lymphatic flow and the removal of waste products from the body
šŸ”¬ Reduce fluid retention and associated discomfort
šŸ”¬ Support immune system efficiency ahead of cold & flu season
šŸ”¬ Promote relaxation, helping to regulate stress responses which can otherwise weaken immunity

By incorporating RLD into your routine now, you’re giving your body a natural boost to help maintain resilience, balance and health throughout the coming months. 🌿

✨ Sunday Reset: Preparing for the Week Ahead✨

Sundays are the perfect time to slow down, reflect, and set yourself up for success in the week to come. A good Sunday reset isn’t about cramming in productivity—it’s about creating calm, clarity, and focus so you step into Monday with confidence.

Here are a few ideas for a simple Sunday reset routine:

🧹 Tidy up your space – A clean environment helps create a clear mind.

šŸ“ Plan your week – Look at your calendar, set priorities, and jot down your top goals.

šŸ„— Meal prep or plan – Decide on meals and snacks so you’re not scrambling midweek.

🧘 Self-care check-in – Journal, stretch, meditate, or enjoy something that recharges you.

šŸŒ™ Nighttime wind-down – Prep clothes, set intentions, and get to bed early.

Think of it as pressing a little ā€œreset buttonā€ before the busy week begins.

šŸ’ Do you have a Sunday reset routine? What’s one thing you do to prepare yourself for the week ahead?

UPDATE: UNIT HAS NOW BEEN LET. A lovely unit has just become available right next to my own space here in Clash. It even comes with its own private office. I’d be delighted to welcome someone from the holistic world, though I’m more than happy to consider other professions.

It’s a friendly, supportive environment, and it would be wonderful to have a like-minded neighbour.

Why Experiencing Cramps After Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage Can Be a Positive Sign

One of my clients experienced intense menstrual cramps after her Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage (RLD) session. While that may sound concerning, it can actually be a sign that the body is responding in a meaningful and beneficial way.

RLD stimulates the lymphatic system, which helps reduce inflammation, support hormone balance, and encourage natural detoxification. During menstruation, your body is already in a state of release. When RLD is introduced, it may amplify that clearing process—bringing to the surface things the body is ready to let go of.

šŸ’” It’s important to remember: painful periods are common, but they are not normal. Cramping, bloating, and emotional intensity may be signs of underlying imbalance, inflammation, or stagnation in the body. Reflexology works gently but deeply to help bring the body back into balance—supporting smoother, more comfortable cycles over time.

So while the treatment may have stirred things up temporarily, that discomfort could be the body's way of beginning to shift, process, and heal.

🌿 Healing isn’t always subtle—but it is always purposeful.

A Common Question from Clients: Why Do I Twitch or Jump Sometimes During a Session?

As a reflexologist drawing from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda, I often get asked why clients twitch or suddenly jump during treatments. Though surprising, these responses are perfectly natural and often a sign of healing.

✨ From a TCM Viewpoint
Reflexology activates energy points linked to organs and meridians. Sudden movements may signal the release or movement of Qi (vital energy), especially if there’s been stagnation from stress or tension. It’s a sign the body is rebalancing.

🧘 From an Ayurvedic Perspective
Twitching relates to an excess of Vata dosha, which governs movement and the nervous system. As reflexology calms and grounds Vata, you may experience spontaneous twitches as built-up energy releases.

šŸ’¤ The Sleep Jerk
If a client jumps, it may simply be a hypnic jerk—a harmless reflex as the body drifts into sleep. It’s a positive sign of deep relaxation.

🌿 In Short
Twitching or jumping isn’t a disruption—it’s the body’s way of releasing tension and restoring balance. Whether it's Qi shifting, Vata settling, or the nervous system relaxing, it's all part of the healing process.

Hay Fever Season Is Here – How Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage (RLD) Can Help

It’s that time of year again when hay fever symptoms begin to surface—sneezing, congestion, itchy eyes, and that constant foggy feeling. If you're looking for a natural, holistic way to support your body through allergy season, Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage (RLD) could offer real relief.

RLD is a specialist reflexology technique that focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet. The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in immunity and fluid balance, and when it becomes sluggish or congested, we’re more prone to inflammation and allergic responses.

By applying targeted pressure to specific reflex points—particularly those linked to the lymphatic system—RLD helps encourage the natural flow of lymph fluid. This can support the body’s detoxification process, reduce inflammation, and help clear sinus congestion and puffy eyes often associated with hay fever.

What makes RLD unique is that it’s deeply relaxing while offering therapeutic benefits. Many clients find that their allergy symptoms become milder and less persistent after regular sessions.

If you’re feeling the effects of seasonal allergies and want to try a gentle, non-invasive approach to wellness, RLD may be just what you need.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or would like to book a session.
