đź’« Ileocecal Valve đź’«
In this photo, I’m using a gentle manual technique to help close and support the ileocecal valve.
The ileocecal valve sits between the small intestine and the large intestine and acts as an important one-way gateway.
Its job is to allow digested food to move from the small intestine into the colon while preventing material from the colon from flowing back into the small intestine.
When this valve isn’t functioning properly, it can contribute to a range of digestive issues such as:
• Bloating
• Abdominal discomfort
• Gas
• Irregular bowel movements
• Poor nutrient absorption
By working with this area manually, the goal is to encourage proper function of the valve and support the natural movement and coordination of the digestive system.
It’s a subtle technique, but when the ileocecal valve is functioning well, it helps maintain the balance between the small and large intestine, something that’s vital for overall digestive health.
Our bodies have remarkable built-in mechanisms for regulating digestion. Sometimes they just need a little support to get back into rhythm.
