Hi welcome to my page
I am a play therapist psychotherapist & counsellor & psychotherapist, affiliated with professional bodies
Irish Association of Play Therapy & Psychotherapists (IAPTP)
Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).”
Through my comprehensive training in Play therapy psychotherapy, counselling & psychotherapy and attachment training, I work towards facilitating a positive outcome with my clients. I work with children, adolescents adults, and couples. As part of my work, I provide Parental support when working with their child, with the option of incorporating a session or sessions with the parent and their child to facilitate open communication and strengthen family bonds. This approach can empower parents, enhance their understanding of their child's emotional needs, and create a supportive framework for children to express themselves freely.
I provide an inclusive atmosphere that honours neurodiversity, i.e. Dyslexia, ADHD and Autism.
As a psychotherapist, I allow clients to address their thought processes and facilitate change and further development.
I run the following workshops with a colleague
1) ' What is Play therapy', it focuses on how play can be used as a therapeutic tool to improve communication and emotional expression in children.”
2) 'Power of Parental support'. This shows parents the value of parental support when their child is attending play therapy
2) Sensory integration workshop. This offers practical techniques for helping children with sensory processing issues.”
4) Parental Support for Children’s Difficult Behaviours. The workshops provide a safe space for parents to learn about and understand behavioural challenges, share experiences, and gain insights from the facilitators (play therapists/psychotherapists) and peers.
Parents can learn how to engage with their children in ways that foster connection and understanding. This improved relationship can help reduce challenging behaviour as children feel more secure and understood. “ The hope for individuals considering these workshops is to provide support and learning among parents facing similar challenges and facilitate parents to feel empowered and maybe build connections with other parents.”
