🚨‼️Would you go to your doctor, dentist, vet, beautician, hairdresser and expect not to pay for a service you availed of? Would you expect to tell them you’d drop it in again and then never do so without any repercussions? Our clinic is no different.

We ask perspective clients to be mindful that small businesses can not operate if people do not pay for their appointments.

Unfortunately we have seen a rise in people not disclosing they don’t have money with them until after the treatment has been carried out, and these payments are seldom honoured.
This is not feasible nor fair.

Please note all hospital call outs will need to be paid for in advance of treatment being carried out going forward.

🚨Here we have a patient who presented with an ingrown toenail that had been left unattended for 12 weeks.

This ingrown occurred after the patient banged their toe and cracked the nail which then proceeded to grown inwards to the skin. Like a thorn, if this piece of nail isn’t removed, it will continue to push its way through, causing infection, swelling, bleeding, weeping and terrible pain. A nail spike needs to be removed to allow for healing. In this case the nail spike that had been left to burrow into the skin had caused a cut and large hematoma that forced the skin into a protrusion due to the pressure building inside.

We were able to remove this large piece of ingrown nail, clean and dress the site of infection and trauma, and advise the patient on home care and next steps.

If you feel anything starting to pinch or press inwards towards the skin, don’t leave it to get it checked. Time is of the essence in preventing infection and reducing healing time.
The sooner it’s removed the less impact it will have.
