The death has occurred of Ollie Lunney, Cloughbally Lower, Mullagh, Co. Cavan unexpectedly, but peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital on 1 November 2025. Predeceased by his wife May and their son Trevor.

Much loved and cherished father of Donal (Niamh) and adored Grandad of Abbey, Sádhbh and Tádhg.

Sadly missed by Donal, Niamh and grandchildren, his brothers Paddy, Maurice and Joe, his sister Mary, relatives, and friends.

The death has occurred of Owen Cooney
Annagharnet and late of Lisnabuntry, Virginia, County Cavan.
Peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents, James and Nellie.
Much-loved husband of Madge and cherished father of Seamus, Brian, Eoghan, Tomas and Áine. Adored grandfather of Aida, Fionn, Dara, Bobbie and Róisín.
Sadly missed by his wife, children and their partners, grandchildren, brother Gerard, sister-in-law Sheila, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at the family home in Annagharnet, A82 XYC8, on Saturday from 4pm to 8pm and on Sunday from 4pm until prayers at 8pm.

The death has occurred of Mary Matthews (née Maguire), Main Street, Virginia, Co. Cavan, and late of Drumscridian, Crosserlough, Co. Cavan, peacefully at home on the 28th of October 2025, following a short illness.

Predeceased by her husband Eamonn, her son Edmond, her grandson Ben, her brothers, and her parents.

Deeply regretted by her children Anne (John Gallagher), Concepta (Dermot O’Reilly), James (Mags), Edel (Neil Culliton), Joan (Alan Farrell), Rosie (Daithí Mahon) and Edmond’s partner Siobhan, her grandchildren, her brother Seamus, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and friends.

The death has occurred of Siobhan Greene, Corraneden, Virginia, County Cavan, and formerly Belturbet, County Cavan, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, the 26th October 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Pre-deceased by her father Seamus, and her father-in-law, Joe Darcy.

Much-loved wife of Gary Darcy, and adored and cherished mother of Fiachra. Sadly missed by her loving husband, her son, her mother Joan, her brothers Declan and Donal, Aunt Anne, Uncle Bernard,nieces, nephews, mother in law May, brother in law, sister-in-law, extended family and friends,

The death has occurred of Billy Kearns, the Drumlins, Virginia, Co. Cavan and late of Dun Laoghaire and Bray, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on 13 October 2025. Much-loved husband of Bernadette and cherished dad of Jacqui, Jacinta, and Adrian and adored grandfather to Aoibheann, Isobel, Aisling, Jacob, Tadhg, Sinéad, Dylan, Oisin, Tomás, and Niall.

Sadly missed by his wife, daughters, his son and his grandchildren, his sister Maureen, his nephews Derek, Vincent, Stephen, and Liam, his sons-in-law Ken and Anthony, daughter-in-law Doireann, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, relatives, and friends.

Predeceased by his siblings Thomas Ultan, Francis, Patrick, Kathleen, Owen, and Sr. Reparata (Toni).

Greatly loved and sadly missed by his beloved wife Kathleen, his loving daughters Sandra (Lance) and Aisling (John), his cherished grandchildren Sean, Dylan, Kieran, Liam and Kate, his sister Moira (London), sister-in-law Eilish, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Predeceased by her parents James and Mary, her brother Kevin, and sister-in-law Margaret. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving brother Andy, sisters Colette and Ann. The death has occurred of Anna Pauline Mary Alderton (née Lynch), late of Drumagoland, Virginia, Co. Cavan, in Australia on the 15th August 2025.

Predeceased by her parents Mary Ann and Thomas, her sisters Kathleen (Kitty) and Marie, and her brother Cathal.

Sadly missed by her daughters Pauline, Mary, Ann, Eileen, her brothers Terry and Paddy, her sister Collette Keogh (Nenagh), her sisters-in-law Pauline and Bernadette, her sons-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a large circle of friends.

Anna's Funeral Mass will take place on Monday 22th September in St Ultan’s Church, Killinkere at 11am followed by interment of ashes in the family plot in the Old Cemetery in Ballyjamesduff.

Much loved husband of Anna and cherished father of Siobhan (Dirk) and Martin (Caroline). Adored and deeply loved grandad of Kevin and Sheena. James will be sadly missed by his wife, son and daughter, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Bartle and Katie, his brothers Mattie, Pat, Phil, and Tommy, sisters May and Rose.
