An enjoyable day yesterday in Ashbourne at the European Baseball quailifier group championship game between Ireland and Austria. Unfortunately Ireland misses out on qualification and finishes second in the group finishing- Austria, Ireland, Bulgaria, Norway.

It was nice chatting post game with former New York Mets & Minnesota Twins pitcher Ryan O'Rourke. (Twins 2015 & 16 and Mets 2019 - 2017 & 2018 were interupted with 'Tommy John' surgery- 14 months rehabbing and time spent working his way back with the Baltimore Orioles organization.)

For those unfamiliar with Baseball jargon 'Tommy John' surgery = Ulnar Collateral Ligament replacement/elbow surgery.

Retired from MLB in 2020 but with grandparents from County Clare he's proud to be representing Team Ireland !

An enjoyable day at Santry Morton Stadiium for the National T&F Championships and fantastic to see a packed house. Some great races! Pictures show rising world star Rhasidat Adeleke taking a curtain call to an appreciative crowd after delivering a National Record while winning the 100m and some action from the Women's 1500m Final where it was great to see fast finishing Carla Sweeney (Rathfarnham) charging down the home straight to claim the Silver behind Olympic qualifier Sofie O'Sullivan.

A big well done to Sportsworld and all the took part !

Another good quote by legendary basketball coach John Wooden. So often stability is linked with strength and overlooks the role of movement patterns, boimechanics and range of motion. Strength alone does not translate or ensure stability without decent biomechanics, correct movement patterns and a sufficient range of motion. 'Flexibility is the key to stability' it's like the old adage 'Bend don't break'
