I get asked how one can get in touch with your body and feelings.
The answer is simple and complicated at the same time.
Unfortunately, there is no easy way to do so.
It isn’t easy simply because what is crucial is the willingness to explore and face how we really feel. This part isn’t easy. This part can bring up to the surface the feelings and emotions we have buried deep inside so we wouldn't have to face it.
They were simply too painful or maybe scary and overwhelming for us to deal with at that time. Or we simply did not have space and time to deal with it.
Whatever the reason is behind it, we all tend to store unresolved tensions in our bodies.
Very often, when receiving Lomi Lomi we get in touch with those parts of us. I often witness my clients crying, laughing, singing, or very quiet reconnection with those parts of us that we push away. After this happens, we often experience lightness in the body, peace of mind, and more space within us or around us. This meeting of self is returning to the source within us.
The beauty of it is that even though it is welcome, it is not necessary to experience any of it. We all reconnect with the source at our own pace.
No pushing, no rush, no forcing tears.
If we get up from the table and simply feel calmer, more at peace with everything, it is ok. If we feel that something has changed but we can not put the finger on it, it is ok too.
There is no right or wrong. Very often, the change comes at a later stage. And if only for a second, it is still precious, as it brings us one step closer to ourselves.
What also matters is the time we give ourselves and readiness to be there for ourselves.
This type of body work can be very beneficial when we do not know where or how to start. Over the years, I have witnessed my clients' and friends transformation on the deepest levels. Yes, they did put their work into the change, but this type of body work is often a spark that starts the transformation. “I feel like I have wings now” said one of my friends many years ago, getting off the table.
The trust, faith, the willingness to move past what does not serve us anymore is the base for all the changes in life. Sometimes things do happen to us, and there is nothing we can do about it. But what we have influence on is how we deal with things. How we process them.
I experienced body work as a pivotal point in my own life. It just catapulted me to things I never even dreamed of. It taught me to check in with my inner self. Do I sometimes forget to check in? Yes. Do I come back to check in? Yes. Do I have a better connection with my inner self because of it? Yes, as long as I am honest with myself.
Is it for everyone? No. It is for those of us who are willing to meet self. Comeback to self. Willing to meet life itself. Willing to put the work in to see results. For those who understand that they can expand their consciousness by feeling inadequate and vulnerable. For those willing to learn to stop judging themselves and look softer and with more compassion at who they are and what their life is. For those who are not afraid of the truth. This work changes perception, but to experience changing perception the willingness to realize our own filters is necessary.
You are more than welcome in my studio in Waterford if you feel called to experience this type of body work.
