The Measure of Success
How do you measure your success? Is it measured by your job title, your wealth, your possesions, followers or likes you have, your customer base, your marital status or the amount of "happy, successful" children you have.
Do you equate doing and being busy as mark of success? Most of us could say at least some, if not all of these are true for us. If I'm truly honest being "successful" sounds exhausting. This success is all too often wrapped up in our happiness. We convince ourselves "If I get this job, if I earn this much money, when I meet the right partner I'll be happy". By measuring our success in this way I believe we are setting ourselves up for the exact opposite, failure. The pressure to accomplish all of these things can lead to the opposite effect, leaving you feeling not only very unhappy but in some cases a huge failure, lost with no direction.
What if we looked at success though a different lens. What if success could be measured in our moments of being rather than doing. To simply BE, in every now moment. I believe true success, happiness and joy can lie in the present moment of simply being. Holding love and compassion for ourselves and those around us for exactly who we are in this present moment. From this place of love and compassion for ourselves, where we are at right now, we make the space needed to see our true essence, who you really are. This also gives way to see things as they truly are, and while material things may make our lives easier in this 3D existence they should not be used as a measure of your success. Simply put, if you change your measure of success, you can see that in being present with love and compassion for yourself and others you are in every way a successful human being and true happiness can be found here.
My message today?
Be present, loving and kind to yourself in every now moment, thats where true success and happiness lie.
Love to you all
