Ahhh Autumn 🍂 leaves changing to crimson, brown and yellows , days are shortening and cooling. Growth slows down to for the winter, animals collect their food and we tend to spend more time indoors.
It's a good idea for us to look to nature to see how to direct our lives though it's hard with life's demands. Autumn, is a good time to be with ourselves, close family and friends, to let go of things ; beliefs, relationships , behaviours we no longer want or need. It's a great time to declutter and pare life down to what is most important , like the dead leaves falling and leaving the branches bare.
The lung and large intestine in Traditional Chinese Medicine are associated with Autumn. These organs take in what we need and eliminate what we dont need. During Autumn people's immune systems may be compromised with the cold and damp. So it's important to do things that defend the fragile lungs like deep breathing, exercise, keeping warm, wearing scarves. Keep the bowels moving harmoniously with food that agrees with us and reduce stress.
Eat foods of the season like ginger, cinnamon, pumpkin , sweet potatoes, apples, bone broth stews and soups. We want to keep warm!🍏🫖🍵🫚 If you find dairy congests you or you've a hard time digesting it, reduce the intake as this can gunk things up in the 🫁
We can boost our immune system with acupuncture as its best to strengthen the immune system so you don't get sick or it's not as severe. And well if you're sick and bunged up, give me a shout 🤗 🤧
