🧼✨ World Hand Hygiene Day Celebration ✨🧼
Today in our home, we marked World Hand Hygiene Day with a fun and informative session for our residents.

We held a small demonstration showing the correct handwashing techniques, highlighting just how important good hand hygiene is for staying healthy and preventing the spread of infection.

Our residents then had the opportunity to take part themselves, practising the proper techniques and enjoying getting involved in the activity. It was wonderful to see such great engagement, smiles, and a real sense of achievement as everyone took part.

Promoting health and wellbeing is always at the heart of what we do, and today was a lovely reminder that even the simplest habits can make a big difference. 💙

Victor is always eager to take part in arts and crafts, and recently shared how meaningful and therapeutic art is for him. Hearing this reminds us exactly why we do what we do — creating opportunities for our residents to express themselves, relax, and enjoy the moment through creativity.

Today we celebrated the beautiful tradition of the May Bush, with our wonderful residents decorating the tree together. It was a lovely way to mark the start of summer, full of colour, smiles, and community spirit 🌿✨

We had a truly special visit from Colin of Flew to You Bird Show, and what an incredible experience it was for everyone.

Colin shared his amazing knowledge of owls and falcons, giving such interesting and engaging information that had us all fascinated. The residents especially loved the opportunity to get up close and even hold these beautiful birds – a moment many will never forget!

It was a fantastic day filled with curiosity, excitement, and plenty of smiles. Thank you to Colin for such a memorable visit 🧡

Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the wonderful ladies from Tomhaggard Women’s Shed to Castlebridge Manor Nursing Home 💛
We are so grateful for the beautiful, handcrafted gifts you kindly donated to our residents. The walking frame bags and sensory items were made with such care and thoughtfulness, and they will truly make a difference to daily life here in our home. The embroidered piece was also a very special addition, and we are honoured to have it.
It was a lovely morning filled with chats, smiles, and connection. Visits like yours bring such warmth and joy to our residents and staff alike.

🌸🐣 Happy Easter Weekend to all our residents, families, friends, and wonderful staff! 🐣🌸

What a truly special week it has been here in our home. Our residents have been busy getting creative, designing beautiful Easter bonnets full of colour, imagination, and springtime joy.

The highlight of the week was undoubtedly our Easter Bonnet Tea Party – such a fantastic day filled with laughter and celebration! We were delighted to welcome a very special guest… the Easter Bunny 🐰 who brought smiles (and a few sweet surprises!). There were plenty of Easter eggs, lovely music, and delicious treats prepared by our amazing kitchen team. It was a day full of fun, warmth, and togetherness that will be remembered by all.

We also took time for reflection with our Holy Thursday Mass service, and today we will gather for prayers as we mark this meaningful time of year.

Thank you to everyone who made this week so memorable. Wishing you all a peaceful, joyful, and happy Easter weekend 💛🌼

A very special mention goes to our Artist of the Month for March 🎨 — Florence!

This was Florence’s very first time taking part in our art session, and what a beautiful debut it was. Her creativity truly shone through, and it’s clear to see just how powerful art can be as a form of therapy. The joy, focus, and expression in her work speaks volumes ✨
We are so proud of you, Florence — and we can’t wait to see more of your wonderful creations!

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday for our Daffodil Day Tea Party 🌼
We had a wonderful afternoon filled with music from Sinéad, plenty of tea and delicious cakes, and most importantly, we came together to raise funds for Daffodil Day in support of the Irish Cancer Society.

Many of our residents, families, and staff have been touched by cancer in some way, and today is a chance to honour survivors, remember loved ones, and support vital cancer services.🎗

To everyone taking part, donating, volunteering or wearing a daffodil, thank you for helping bring hope to those who need it most. 💚
