Some interesting facts here!

45% of women with ADHD experience premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), which is caused by a high sensitivity to fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone, as well as decreases in serotonin – hormonal changes that happen during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle.

“Historically, autism research focused almost exclusively on boys. Dr. Leo Kanner and Hans Asperger, pioneers in autism research, primarily studied male subjects in the 1940s. This male-centric foundation created diagnostic criteria that still carry today.”

Autism can look very different in girls and women, which means it’s often missed.

Have you tried EMDR therapy?

It can be a really helpful way to process Trauma.

EMDR: Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a type of therapy that processes trauma in a very specific way.

This method involves moving your eyes a specific way while you process traumatic memories, you move your eyes from left to right or right to left whilst listening to a ticking sound. You can also gently tap your shoulders or your legs while you move your eyes. This is known as bilateral stimulation.

EMDR’s goal is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences.

Compared to other therapy methods, EMDR is relatively new. The first clinical trial investigating EMDR was in 1989. Dozens of clinical trials since EMDR’s development show this technique is effective and can help a person faster than many other methods.

Sounds great doesn’t it.

I am currently learning EMDR and will be offering it at a special discount price over the next few weeks. If you are interested in knowing more, please get in touch.
