Founded in 1982 we have since become a world leading manufacturer and global exporter of stainless steel as well as manufacturing engineered products customised to suit projects designed by architects and consulting engineers. Our large workforce of almost 200 employees includes metal fabricators, sheet metal workers, fitters, engineers, designers as well as sales and administrative staff based in our factory located in Ardcavan on the outskirts of Wexford town. This year’s Mick Driscoll Memorial Cup marked a special milestone as it was the 10th Anniversary of our annual soccer match honouring our colleague.

As always the match featured some questionable tactics and moves but at full-time, the Production Floor team took the well deserved win against the Office team.

In the lead-up to the match, our social committee arranged a Golden Goal competition to raise funds for the Rainbow Classes in Scoil Mhuire, Coolcotts, as chosen by the Driscoll family.

Earlier this year, we hosted yet another successful Apprenticeship Open Day, giving attendees an insight into the various opportunities available with us. We are delighted to welcome our newest cohort of apprentices to Kent Stainless, and wish them every success in their new careers with us.

With over 20 apprentices in our team, Kent Stainless are extremely proud to continue to invest in the next generation of talent.

Last week, we celebrated the retirement of one of our most dependable team members, John French.

Quiet, steady, and always professional, John carried out his work with great skill and pride with Kent Stainless for the past 30 years. Alongside his calm presence, his quick wit was always appreciated around the workshop.

We were joined by John’s family for the occasion, including a surprise appearance by his son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter, who flew in from England.

On behalf of everyone at Kent Stainless, we thank John for his many years of service and commitment, and we wish him all the very best in this next chapter.

This year’s theme for International Women in Engineering Day, "Together We Engineer – Building Better Careers and Workplaces," highlighted the collective effort needed to create a more inclusive and dynamic industry.

At Kent Stainless, we have seen firsthand the impact women make across our engineering teams — coordinating projects, solving difficult challenges and driving innovation.

As a company, we are committed to promoting engineering as a rewarding career path for women in various ways including secondary school work placements, graduate programmes, and college internships.

This afternoon we celebrated the retirement of Agnes Malone, who has been an integral part of Kent Stainless for the past 20 years. We were delighted to be joined by her family and it was made even more memorable when her favourite footballer, Festus Ebosele, made a surprise appearance to mark the occasion!

Managing Director Ann spoke about Agnes’ loyalty, warmth and kindness and thanked Agnes for her dedication over the years.

Agnes’s retirement marks the end of a chapter, and while we will miss her dearly, we are delighted that she now gets the time to relax and enjoy the next phase of life — no doubt with plenty of football matches along the way.

Last year, Queen Maeve Square in Sligo reopened to the public, unveiling a stunning enhancement to the public realm. Kent Stainless was proud to play a key role in this transformative project, delivering a wide range of products all designed and fabricated onsite in Wexford by our talented team.

The installation featured eye-catching Letter Sculptures, distinctive Bike Shaped Cycle Racks, bespoke Wayfinding Laser Cut Monoliths, Lecterns, and In Ground Power Units.

Another very busy week at Kent Stainless. We delivered two potent waste vent filter skids to one of our valued pharmaceutical customers. We also successfully completed the FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) on this pumping and heat exchange skid. This marks the final piece of a major lift station project that our team has fabricated on site here in Ardcavan, Wexford. The outstanding build quality is a great reflection of the skill, innovation and dedication of our team.

Today we marked a very special occasion, the retirement of Damien Donovan, who has been a dedicated fabricator with us for the past 36 years. We surprised him with a farewell party and were delighted to be joined by his family for the occasion.

Outside of work, Damien is well known in the local community as a respected soccer and GAA referee. Over the years, he has officiated so many matches that he has run the equivalent of circling the globe, twice. Although he is hanging up his welding gear, he is not retiring from the pitch just yet and will continue keeping things in order on the field for the foreseeable future.

Damien’s skill, work ethic and good humour will be greatly missed. Wishing him a long, happy, and active retirement.

We were delighted to host a very successful Apprenticeship Open Day recently with young people in attendance from around the county. It was fantastic to see such a strong interest in the opportunities available within the engineering and manufacturing industries.

This annual event provides attendees with a great insight into the career paths available in metal fabrication, fitting, and sheet metal work and our team were on hand to share their experiences, answer questions, and give attendees a behind-the-scenes look at what a future with Kent Stainless could look like.
