MACRA ANNUAL NATIONAL CONFERENCE ✨
We headed to Roscarbery for the October Bank Holiday weekend to the Macra Annual National Conference (aka the Rally!)
Wexford Macra were out in force in the competitions side of the weekend with
- Bree team of Eddie Casey, Eimear Jackman, Mary Byrne and Sinéad Kinsella in the Know your Ag Final
- Richard and Tom Devereux (Kilmuckridge) in the U23 & Senior Beef Stock Judging Finals
- Rebecca Banville (Ramsgrange) and Michael Fortune (Kilrush / Askamore / Ferns) in the Sheep Stock Judging Finals
- Ramsgrange in Club of the Year

Congratulations to all who competed in the various competitions over the weekend!
In addition to the competitions, we were kept busy with the weekends other activities:
- Farm walks to see beef and dairy farms, or the alternative tour of the Carbery Factory.
- The “be a tourist in West Cork,” pilates, says, Road bowling, a taste of West Cork showcase, trad session, live music and the Black Tie Banquet.
The conference held on the subject of “Fields of Opportunity”, with keynote speaker MEP Billy Kelleher, followed by two fantastic panel discussions on the topics of opportunities in Agriculture and in Rural Diversification.
It’s safe to say that Wexford Macra members enjoyed the weekend thoroughly!
We would like to extend a huge thank you all in Carbery Macra involved in organising this years’ National Conference! It was clear that an immense amount of work and preparation went into the weekend and it truly paid off!
