Dear Friends
I can only say that I am utterly blown away by the incredible response to this go fund me campaign set up by John Bates , saint of all saints ….. always helping others …… I am ever so grateful and humbled by the experience. It was so hard to accept and let this process go ahead … but it kept coming at me and eventually I let it happen. I did not expect this level of generosity and the spin off of other events organised to raise funds. People are just so full of heart really. I look at the go fund me and I just don’t even understand why that’s set up for me … it’s a very strange experience. I am determined to get better and give back…… especially around my journey and how it could give some help to another person. It is a difficult path being diagnosed with cancer and listening to the oncologists very often negative talk ….. it takes weeks to get over one of their sentences …. And then there’s the impact of treatment…. Living in the unknown ….. the change of lifestyle…. the endless research …. It’s a job and a half…. !
I really want to thank my beautiful daughter Joy who has been by my side and involved at every level … every step of the way … she is such a Trojan and could be anywhere but Duncormick right now ……
I’m really excited to get the opportunity to avail of some wonderful treatments that are not available here in Ireland and with the help of god all will be well
