Karina has clearly taken our footwear advice to the next level… 🛼👟

At Happy Feet Foot Clinic, we spend a lot of time helping patients choose the right footwear to support their feet properly.

Karina, however, has decided the best option is one rollerblade and one runner… apparently it keeps one foot rolling into the weekend while the other stays firmly grounded.

We can confirm this is not part of our professional recommendation… but it did give us a good laugh in the clinic today.

Diabetes and foot care — the statistics are shocking.
• 20 amputations happen every day due to diabetic foot ulceration.
• Over 80% of these are preventable.
• 65% of people who have a lower limb amputation will die within 5 years.

And very often… it starts with something small.

Things like:
• Corns
• Callus
• Cracked heels
• Pressure points

When these are left untreated, they can develop into ulcers, which may become infected — and in severe cases this can lead to amputation.

A CPD day packed with valuable knowledge focused on improving the care we provide for our diabetic patients.

Keeping our skills up to date and refining the assessments we carry out in clinic is essential in providing the best possible care.

Some very shocking statistics were shared during the training… I’ll be sharing a few of them over the next few days, so stay tuned.

It’s always great to reconnect with fellow colleagues from around the country and share experiences at events like these.

👂 New Service Coming to Happy Feet Foot Clinic

From June, we will be introducing Ear Irrigation (Ear Wax Removal) at the clinic.

Excess ear wax can cause symptoms such as:
• Blocked hearing
• Ear discomfort
• Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
• Dizziness or balance issues

Ear irrigation is a safe and effective method used to gently remove excess wax and help restore normal hearing and comfort.

This is a verruca following treatment with Verrutop® 👣

Verrutop is a professional-use topical treatment formulated with a nitric–zinc complex, which works by:
• denaturing viral proteins
• desiccating and devitalising the virally infected tissue
• inducing controlled cellular necrosis (targeted destruction of affected cells)

This leads to a gradual mummification of the verruca, allowing the non-viable tissue to separate while preserving the surrounding healthy skin.

What you’re seeing here is the careful reduction of non-viable, keratinised tissue following treatment — an important step in:
• reducing viral load
• improving treatment efficacy
• supporting healthy skin regeneration

Verrucas are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and can persist for extended periods without appropriate treatment. A structured treatment plan is often required for full resolution.
