Update: I have reported this man to the Gardaí. They have his details, evidence of the messages, the voice note, and his picture. The female officer I dealt with at Wicklow Garda Station was lovely and extremely helpful. Never be afraid to speak up about inappropriate behaviour.

Last night, a man continuously sexually harassed me for almost two hours.
19 missed calls.
23 texts.
1 voice note.
This is why women in the massage industry are often wary of taking male clients.
This is why women don’t always feel safe - even in their own workplace.
Would it have been easier to just block him? Yes. But I wanted to address it in the hope that he won’t do this to another woman.
This kind of behaviour gives men a bad reputation and takes away from the many genuinely respectful men who deserve and benefit from these therapies.
I remember when I first started working as a massage therapist in my early 20s. I received an email from a man requesting a massage, with a special request to spend the last 10 minutes “finishing.”
That email stayed with me throughout my career. It wasn’t the first disgusting message I received - and sadly, it won’t be the last.
Oh, and that voice note? It was him groaning 🤢
Please don’t let this overshadow the many lovely, respectful men out there - because there are many ❤️
For clarity: I only accept male clients I know personally or who have been referred to me by existing clients. This is my safe space, and it will remain that way.
Finally, I will not for one second let this behaviour pass without addressing it.
Call this s**t out.
Speak up.
This is how we create safer spaces for women in this industry 💜
