Ever feel that work gets the best of you and leaves very little in the tank for you and your family? I've been there in the past and it ain't fun! So these days, I'm better at taking my own advice.
You CAN thrive personally and professionally in your 40s and 50s and still have time and energy left for You. And it's easier if you're willing to change the rules you operate by and believe a different story for yourself.
The first half of this year has been packed to capacity for me with a great combination of work and play.
At work, I've delivered health, mindset and wellbeing sessions to a wide variety of organizations, including Pinterest, Cork City Council, Maynooth University, Kildare County Council and Aiseiri Drug Treatment centres.
I've also worked with the most amazing clients on a one-to-one basis. Women who decided that their own health and head-game deserved time, energy and attention this year so they could have an even better second half (of 2024 and of life)!
Personally, I've had great fun doing more storytelling because its one of the things that makes my heart sing. I've been walking, riding pillion and of course, doing reformer Pilates because it helps me stay strong, fit and flexible. The photo below was from one of the 'outside my comfort zone' projects I like to do every year.
And because I'm human, I've also had my fair share of challenges this year too with health scares, friends lost and the life challenges that are there for most of us, regardless of what it looks like on the outside.
So, I'm taking my own advice and taking a break from work for July - to rest, relax, recover and refuel for the second half of 2024.
Life is pretty amazing - it would be a shame to be so busy that we miss it.
Go gently,
Ashleigh ###
