Fantastic News for and

PLANNING PERMISSION GRANTED for Greystones Primary Care Centre.

This long overdue project can now move to tender, we can have boots on the ground and construction underway in the second half of the year and this facility can open next year.

This is a fantastic result as I leave office as Minister for Health.

Spent the morning in Bray with Minister Stephen Donnelly for Wicklow, along with my colleague Senator Pat Casey. Really strong recognition for Minister Donnelly’s work in health and women’s health. Stephen remains committed to working hard on behalf of the people of Bray and Wicklow.

In the last four and a half years we've added more doctors, more nurses, more social care workers, more beds, more primary care centres than has ever happened before. Our healthcare workers have halved the time that people are waiting for hospital care.

But we must go further.

Pleased to confirm a significant step forward in supporting families affected by Dravet Syndrome. From January 2025, the HSE will reimburse (Fintepla®), a groundbreaking medication designed to reduce seizures associated with this rare and severe form of epilepsy. This development will ensure patients in Ireland gain access to this life-changing treatment. This is a good day for these patients and their families, who are grappling with the challenges of these very complex conditions and is part of our ongoing commitment to funding innovative treatments for rare conditions.

We need to get our Cliff Walk reopened, not just on a temporary basis but also to ensure it can stay open as an amenity for everyone. I’m working to ensure that the required funding to protect all of Wicklow’s coastline from erosion is secured as it’ll ensure we can have our Cliff walk and also train transport along our coastline.
