“There is no failure, only feedback” comes from Neuro-Linguistic Programming and is often used in coaching, business, therapy, and personal development.
It means that when something does not go the way you hoped, instead of seeing it as a permanent failure or proof that you are not capable, you view it as information you can learn from.
For example:
* If a business idea does not work, the “feedback” might be:
* the timing was wrong,
* the audience was unclear,
* or the marketing needs changing.
* If a person struggles with a new habit, the feedback may be:
* the goal was too big,
* the environment was not supportive,
* or the strategy needs adjusting.
This encourages a mindset shift:
* Failure mindset: “I failed, so I’m not good enough.”
* Feedback mindset: “This result is showing me what needs to change.”
It does not mean mistakes do not hurt or that consequences are not real. It simply reframes setbacks as part of learning and growth rather than as a final judgement about you.
When you learn to ride a bike
You wobble, fall, adjust your balance, and try again. Each fall gives feedback about what to do differently next time.
