Prof. Tomer Avni, Director of Internal Medicine at Mayanei Hayeshua, was offered several positions before coming here, but none of them felt right.

When he joined in May 2023, he thought the hospital seemed a bit older and less state of the art than hospitals like Sheba and Ichilov. But it felt different and he couldn't tell quite what it was; just that it was 'right'.

"If you asked me 10 years ago, I'd never have thought I'd be in Bnei Brak. But it was one of the best decisions I made in my life. The staff here take their job seriously, and as a holy assignment."

Then he added, "You know the expression, 'Saving one soul is like saving a whole world'? Now I can understand it. Even one person is worth it!"

Quadruplets, born at 32 weeks gestation, represent what doctors call a "one in a million" occurrence.

Health correspondent Merav Cohen, explained "This happens once in a million births. We're talking about a full, successful pregnancy carrying through to 32 weeks."

While fertility treatments helped make this dream possible, carrying quadruplets to 32 weeks marks a remarkable achievement in itself, doctors noted.

The babies, born at 32 weeks gestation, represent what doctors call a "one in a million" occurrence.

A heartfelt event took place at Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center, celebrating an extraordinary donation by the Nagler family and their daughters. This generous gift—a state-of-the-art ultrasound machine for our Mammography Unit—was dedicated in loving memory of the late Yehoshua Arye Nagler Z”L and his daughter, Malka Edna Nagler A”H.

Thanks to this advanced technology, Mayanei Hayeshua can now provide even better care, helping to save more lives. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Nagler family for their incredible generosity and meaningful contribution.

A Bnei Brak family welcomed quadruplets- after two sets of twins - at Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center on Sunday. This happens only once in a million births!

Professor Mani, head of the Women’s Division, said: “We are honored to have been part of this extraordinary journey. The dedication of our medical staff, their careful preparation, and years of experience all came together for this beautiful moment.”

Each of the babies was assigned a senior doctor from the maternity ward and a senior nurse.

At this stage, the babies need respiratory support and receive close and focused care.

Our maternity ward boasts one of the lowest infection rates in Israel, and one of the lowest rates of intracerebral brain injuries in the country.

Dr. Barzilai, Director of the Neonatal Department, stated: “We are all excited to see the quadruplets begin their journey with dedicated and high-quality care. Our maternity ward is equipped with the most advanced equipment, and we will continue to closely monitor the condition of the babies.”

Over 300 initiatives were submitted to the Reboot Forum’s ‘Leading Health Initiative of the Year’ competition this year, in collaboration with the Yediot Ahronoth group and Ynet, that were then ranked according to their feasibility, their contribution to patients and the health system and the extent of their impact in improving public health.

Mayanei Hayeshua’s Mordechai Fachler Family Therapy Center – at the time a somewhat revolutionary holistic model for treating families struggling in the area of mental health – was chosen as one of the top three initiatives! Thanks to the vision of its director, Nechama Samuel, this Unit, designed as an apartment, was established with the financial support of the British Friends of Mayanei Hayeshua and is located in Mayanei Hayeshua’s impressive 6 story mental Health Center.

The stated aim of the hospital’s Family Therapy Unit is to professionally address and treat the unique difficulties that characterize children and parents who are living in the shadow of a significant mental challenge of one or more of their family members.
