Aparigraha is often translated as non-greed,non-hoarding and non-attachment.
Aparigraha can be practiced in your daily life quite simply by controlling our imbalanced desire to own and hoard things.
How many clothes, gadgets, ornaments, books, shoes, etc do you have which you hardly use? How much more do you need for it to be enough? We need to have a clear distinction between our needs and wants...Try to avoid buying more and more things just because it appeals to you and you can afford it...Even more importantly, stop hoarding things which you haven't used in a long time just because you have a sentimental attachment to it or you're worried you might need it in the future.
Greed , hoarding and attachment doesn't just cost us money but also drains us off our valuable time and energy. Hoarding things means you also need to maintain them...Is it worth all that?
Parigraha or attachment can show up in non-physical things too.Eg: Often we worry so much about a project, business idea or even a holiday being successful that we forget to enjoy the work that goes into it...Worse still just the fear of failure stops us from going ahead with it.
However difficult, bit by bit try to take those small steps closer to your dreams and farther away from the attachment to the outcome...
Let actions be your only concern, don't obsess over the results.Else this will paralyze your growth and progress.
