Every penny counts? Turns out that 4,000 years ago, every gram of silver did! ⚖
A study led by Dr. Tzilla Eshel from the University of Haifa shows silver was used as currency in ancient Israel over 1,000 years before coins, earlier than in Egypt and Greece! 🤯
By examining silver hoards from 2000-600 BCE, the team uncovered an impressively advanced money system, including value control and forgery, way before coins appeared.
