Elmedical delivers an innovative office-based system (a compact console and catheters) for minimally invasive thermal treatments in urology:

• UniThermia for bladder cancer (NMIBC).
• DuoThermia for prostatitis (CP/CPPS). UniThermia for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC):
UniThermia provides uniform thermo-chemotherapy all over the bladder by high flow of a heated mitomycin C solution. It uses the efficient Elmedical proprietary heat exchanger system that minimizes drug degradation caused by drug exposure to high temperature. UniThermia uses conductive heat which is better controlled in the bladder than microwave where the energy transforms to heat in a way difficult to predict and control. In the microwave heating, temperature depends on the direction of the antenna within the bladder and the proximity of the tissue to the antenna. In UniThermia, heat administered precisely and uniformly all over the bladder without burns or ineffective low heating. DuoThermia for the Prostatitis (CP/CPPS):
DuoThermia for CP/CPPS is the simultaneous thermal treatment of the prostate and bladder administered by a heated balloon in the prostatic urethra and free circulation of a heated saline in the bladder. In DuoThermia, the heated blood perfusion also thermally treats the pelvic floor. Thus, this technology differs from currently emerging thermal treatments for CP/CPPS that thermally treat the prostate alone. DuoThermia uses conductive heat which is better controlled than radiated energies like microwave, RF or ultrasound where the radiated energy transforms into heat within the tissue in a way difficult to predict and control. Some advantages of DuoThermia over the currently emerging thermal treatments:
•More non-ablative thermal treatment to the pelvic organs due to the two sub-ablative heat sources (a single heat source to match the heat amount of DuoThermia would have to be ablative).
•All pelvic locations where CP/CPPS symptoms prevalent: prostate, bladder and pelvic floor are thermally treated. Highlights:
-Over 22,000 procedures performed & sold in:
Germany, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Croatia, Turkey, Austria, France, Switzerland, Netherlands and Israel.
- Best patients tolerance with No burns &
No adverse events.
- Topical anesthesia only.
- No post-op catheter.
- Economical.
- Compact and mobile, simple to operate.
