In the heart of Jerusalem stands the historic Chapel of Saint King Louis IX at the French Hospital.

Built in 1881 by the French Count Amédée de Piellat and entrusted to the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Apparition, this chapel has welcomed generations of Christian patients seeking comfort, prayer, and spiritual support.

For more than a century, it has remained a sacred place of peace and hope.

Today, time has taken its toll, and the chapel urgently needs restoration to preserve its beauty, uniqueness, and spiritual heritage for future generations.

As part of the twinship agreement between St. Louis Hospital – Jerusalem and Maison Médicale Jeanne Garnier – Paris, we’re excited to share that two of our staff members, Nurse Nervana Baidoun and Caregiver Ismail Asi, accompanied by our Sister Superior, Sr. Elizabeth Thet, have begun a one-month exchange program in Paris!
During their stay, they’ll join the team of Jeanne Garnier to share experiences, learn new skills, and strengthen the spirit of collaboration between our two institutions.

This partnership was officially signed in March 2023 in Jerusalem and was originally set to begin in November 2023. Though the challenging security situation over the past two years caused delays, we’re grateful to finally see this beautiful initiative come to life.

A group of our patients took a special trip to the Convent of Our Lady of the Ark in Abu Gosh. Surrounded by nature and peace, we enjoyed games, music, activities, a delicious BBQ 🍔🥩🍖🔥, and lots of smiles all around.
