6 آب/ أغسطس 2025| سعدنا باستقبال ممثلة أستراليا لدى الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة السيدة بيثاني راندل، والسيد توفيق رعد، مدير السياسات والبرامج التنموية، والسيدة لوسي بري مسؤولة المساعدات الإنسانية في الممثلية، خلال زيارة لمركز سانت جون للعيون في كفر عقب.
واستقبل الوفد، د. محمد خليف، مدير إدارة العمليات في المجموعة، وأفراد طاقم العمل في المركز. وتعرف الوفد على طبيعة عمل الطاقم والخدمات التي يقدمها المركز للسكان في المنطقة، سيما وأن مجموعة مستشفى سانت جون للعيون أنجزت مؤخراً أعمال توسعة وتطوير لمركز كفر عقب شملت إضافة غرفة مخصصة لحقن الأفاستين، وغرفة للعلاج بالليزر، والعيادات المتخصصة لأمراض الشبكية، والقرنية، والجلوكوما، وجراحة تجميل العيون، إضافة إلى عيادة طب عيون الأطفال التي تشمل قسم فحوصات الحول.
ويزيد هذا التطوير في المركز من القدرة على خدمة عدد أكبر من المرضى بنسبة 20% مع الحفاظ على أعلى معايير الرعاية والسلامة والخصوصية، خاصةً لأولئك الذين لا يستطيعون الوصول إلى الخدمات داخل القدس.
يذكر أن استراليا تدعم مجموعة مستشفى سانت جون للعيون منذ العام 2013 من خلال الشراكة مع مؤسسة فريد هولوز الأسترالية العريقة.
On 6 August we were delighted to welcome Ms. Bethany Randell, Australian Representative in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Mr. Tawfic Raad, Senior Policy & Program Manager, and Ms. Lucy Bree, Humanitarian Advisor from the Australian Representative Office.
Dr. Mohamad Khlief, our Director of Operations and Transformation, received the delegation and accompanied them on a tour of our Kufor Aqab Center’s newly expanded facilities, where they met with the center’s staff and were briefed on their work.
The expansion includes a dedicated Avastin injection room, a laser treatment room, sub-specialty clinics for retina, oculoplastic, and corneal diseases, a pediatric ophthalmology section, and an orthoptics assessment room. This will enable us to serve 20% more patients while maintaining the highest standards of care, safety, and privacy, particularly for those unable to access services in Jerusalem.
It is worth noting that Australia has been supporting the St John Eye Hospital Group since 2013 through its valued partnership with the prestigious The Fred Hollows Foundation.
