I once heard someone say, that it does not matter where you needle, you will get the same outcome. I do NOT agree with this. I once needle a patient who suffered from extreem amount of saliva. This was only one of many symptoms and problems that he had. The salivation was only a minor symptom. Initially I did not address it, but then I heard of a point for salivation for children, and decided to try it on my adult patient. I did not tell him what I was doing or aiming for, but a minute after I had inserted the needles, he said: I don't know what you did, but my mouth is dryer than it has been in years! So no, the points should be needled according to a plan...
