As birthing women and as mothers, we know the experiences of pregnancy, birth, and those first weeks and months with your newborn have the potential to be some of the most rewarding of your life. Too often during this time women are overwhelmed by uncertainty and fear. Through birth doula support, postpartum doula support and childbirth education, we aim to give you the knowledge an

d tools to emerge from pregnancy and birth a more capable and confident woman, mother, and friend to those around you. As your doula/doulas, we will provide you with up-to-date, accurate information throughout your pregnancy, labor, and birth experience. Without even having met you, we already have supreme confidence in your ability to birth. With the proper education and support, you and your family can achieve a positive birth experience. The ability to birth is within you; we just help you do it better.

What is a Birth Doula? A Birth Doula is a labor support professional that accompanies a woman in labor to help ensure a calm, safe and satisfying birth experience for her and her partner. She assists the couple in having an enjoyable birth by providing mental and emotional support, physical comfort, and by communicating with the medical staff to make sure the couple has the information that they need to make informed decisions. Birth Doula support begins during the prenatal period and continues through the immediate postpartum period. What is a Postpartum Doula? The Postpartum period is a very significant, sensitive and transformative time in a woman’s life. A Postpartum Doula empowers and helps make this transition into motherhood as smooth and enjoyable as possible. A Postpartum Doula works with new as well as experienced parents making life easier for the new family. Every woman postpartum needs a helping hand and a bit of tender loving care. What does a Postpartum Doula Provide? A postpartum doula works with a family for 3-4 hour sessions, 1-3 times a week for up to 6 months postpartum. By hiring a postpartum doula you receive the following (plus a free introductory meeting):
At least one prenatal visit to discuss your preferences and expectations
Phone consultations throughout your pregnancy and postpartum
Topics Covered: How to soothe baby; How to breastfeed; How to change baby’s diaper; How to bathe baby, Umbilical cord care, Developmental milestones; How to dress baby; How to decipher baby’s cries; How to put baby to sleep etc. Prenatal Support Services

Lamaze Childbirth Education Classes
The goal of Lamaze Childbirth Education is to increase a mother's confidence in her ability to give birth. Using up-to-date, evidence-based information, Lamaze prepares parents so they can approach birth with knowledge, confidence and calm. A comprehensive, interactive and fun childbirth preparation course offered in two formats:
Women-only intimate groups [3 hour class, once a week x 5 weeks]
Couples in a private setting [3 hour class, once a week x 3 weeks]
Topics Covered: Anatomy of Pregnancy; Stages of Labor; Coping Techniques; Pain Relief Options; Birth; Cesarean Birth; Postpartum; Nursing; Early Parenting

Parenting 101 Workshop
The Parenting 101 Workshop is intended for first time parents who want to learn skills and practical information that will help them take care of their newborn. The workshop consists of 2 sessions during the prenatal period. Topics covered: How to Prepare for baby; What to expect in the first few weeks; Overview of Nursing, soothing, bonding; Questions, Concerns, Fears etc.

Birth Doula Package
Free Consultation Visit This complimentary visit is to get to know us and ask questions about the services that we provide. Find out how we can guide, empower and support you during your birth experience.

2 In-Depth Prenatal Meetings Our visits are usually one to two hours long. First Prenatal Meeting- We get to know each other better and go over the pregnancy, issues/questions/ concerns etc. We provide nutritional support and information as well as natural ways to cope with common pregnancy symptoms. Second Prenatal Meeting- We talk more specifically about the birth itself and your birth plan. We discuss certain methods to better prepare your body physically and your mind spiritually for birth. It is recommended that the partner be present, if possible, for at least the second half of this meeting. The Birth We are available to you 24/7, two weeks before your estimated due date and two weeks after. Once labor has begun we provide early labor support and assistance in assessing your labor by phone and/or home visit. We provide continuous care and support during active labor as well as assistance in determining when to call homebirth midwife or when to leave for the hospital/ birthing center. Postpartum Support Initial Postpartum: In the initial moments after birth we provide breastfeeding instruction and support. We discuss what you can expect over the coming days during your recovery and the development of your newborn baby. Postpartum Follow Up: We will visit you within a week of delivery to check in and see how you are doing. We will answer any postpartum questions you may have and go over your birth with you.
