Yesterday in Ariel, United Hatzalah volunteers took part in a massive emergency drill called “Roar of the Lion”. The exercise tested how emergency and security teams respond to all kinds of crises — from missile strikes to rescue operations and medical care on the ground.

United Hatzalah volunteers were on the front lines, providing rapid medical response, coordinating with all other emergency teams, and helping ensure the city is ready for any situation. Big thanks to the City of Ariel, Israel Police, Fire & Rescue Services, Home Front Command, IDF Rescue Units, and all partners for making this drill a success!

After 738 days in captivity, Bar arrived home in Holon this week, escorted by his United Hatzalah family and friends.

But the Kuperstein family’s challenges didn’t start there. 6 years ago, Bar’s father Tal, a United Hatzalah volunteer, was severely injured while helping someone in medical distress. He’s been paralyzed ever since. Bar stepped up for his family, until he was brutally kidnapped by Hamas on October 7.

Now they’re both home, but the family needs support for living expenses, medical care, and physical & mental rehabilitation. United Hatzalah launched a campaign to help them rebuild. Every donation makes a difference.

Tragedy struck during today’s mass prayer rally in Jerusalem when a youth fell from a construction site near the event, sustaining fatal injuries. United Hatzalah EMTs Yosef Gabai, Moshe Fordsham, and Eliyahu Lapidot responded immediately and provided emergency medical care, but due to the severity of the injuries, the youth was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“We were informed that the youth fell from a significant height while watching the rally,” said the responding EMTs. “Despite our best efforts, the injuries were too severe. It’s a heartbreaking scene that deeply affects us all.”

Our hearts are with the family and everyone impacted by this tragedy. 💔

Yesterday, United Hatzalah received a call for an unplanned home birth. Our emergency call center immediately dispatched the Midwives Unit, providing the mother with calm, professional, and compassionate care exactly when she needed it most.

Every year, our emergency centers handle an estimated 1,600 birth-related calls. Having trained midwives in the field greatly enhances the quality, safety, and confidence of care for women in these critical moments.

A huge thank you to our midwives, the United Hatzalah team, and especially EMT Tal Lalum – you are simply amazing! Thanks also to Ma’ayanei HaYeshua Hospital for receiving the mother and newborn for continued care.

In the Gaza Periphery, a memorial grove was planted at Moshav Talmei Eliyahu to honor United Hatzalah volunteers who fell during the Iron Swords War. Volunteers, bereaved families, and injured responders joined in partnership with Chiburim B’Chaklaut to remember heroes like Maor Shalom z”l, a United Hatzalah volunteer who gave his life serving as a Shin Bet combatant, and Rotem Sahar Hadar z”l, the son of volunteer Liat Sahar Hadar, who fell in combat. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🧡

On October 7th, the ground shook and Israel changed forever. The footage in The Ambulance Video is not a movie. It is real moments captured by United Hatzalah ambulances as our volunteers ran into chaos to save lives. Side by side with security forces, they treated the wounded, set up triage centers, and brought people to safety under unimaginable conditions. Two years later, we remember the lives lost and honor the courage of every volunteer who acted with strength, compassion, and faith when it mattered most. Their bravery will forever be part of Israel’s story. 🧡

Operation Return to Borders: United Hatzalah Medical Emergency Preparedness for Hostage Return

United Hatzalah has established enhanced medical preparedness in advance of the arrival of returning hostages. Multiple medical response teams comprising EMTs, paramedics, and physicians are positioned at strategic locations and in proximity to the residences of the returnees, equipped with ambulances, emergency response vehicles, and advanced medical equipment.

United Hatzalah President and Founder Eli Beer stated: "Great emotion fills the hearts of United Hatzalah volunteers with the return of our dear brothers and sisters. We are activating all our medical response teams to be an integral part of the national effort and to provide immediate medical assistance as required."

As we approach two years since October 7th, we remember a day of unimaginable tragedy and extraordinary heroism. We are honored to be a part of One Day in October, a new four-part series premiering tomorrow on HBO Max, featuring a full segment on Ambulance 54, United Hatzalah volunteers Avi, Avi, and Emanuel, who risked their lives to evacuate the wounded from the war zone.

United Hatzalah volunteers ran toward danger to save as many lives as possible. Their courage and dedication reflect the heart of who we are. We continue to pray that all the hostages will finally come home.
