מדובר כאן בגדם קצר מאד בקטיעה מעל הברך. לאלה מביננו שמבינים ענין, אורך בית הגדם מאד מטעה מאחר ויש עודף של ריקמה רכה. אורך העצם שמייצרת את מינוף התנועה כ 10ס"מ בלבד. עד כמה חשובה היכולת להתאים את הרכיבים לקטוע, במיוחד רכיבי בית הגדם. מדובר כאן בפרוטזה בת 5 שנים של אישה שלובשת את הפרוטזה מ6 בבוקר עד 12 בלילה, בקיץ, בחורף, באזעקות של ירי טילים ויש צורך לרדת במדרגות למיקלט, בטיפול בילדים ! אין לה קביים,אין לה כסא גלגלים ורמת הפעילות שלה היא k4 ! גם בעידן שרוולי הסיליקון, לא בהכרח שרוולי סיליקון הם הפתרון האידיאלי לכל קטוע ויש צורך מקצועי להתאים את הרכיבים אישית לכל קטוע.
כמו כאן למשל: בית גדם ואקום גמיש עם מסגרת חיצונית קשיחה, ונטיל לא אוטמטי

She has no crutches, no wheelchair and her activity level is k4! Even in the era of silicone liners, silicone liners are not necessarily the ideal solution for every amputee and there is a professional need to adapt the components individually for each amputee.
