The Experience of Inversions and Backbends Utilizing Props with Eyal Shifroni

Inversions and backbends are central components to the essence of Yoga and are some of the great gifts that Yoga offers.

In the workshop we'll explore the following words of B.K.S Iyengar:
Props help to perform the asanas with ease… The student understands and learns asana faster on props as the brain remains passive. Through passive brain one learns to be alert in body and mind. Props are guides to self-learning. They help accurately without mistakes… The props are meant to give a sense of direction, alignment and understanding of the asana.”

• Inversions take us inward along with many other benefits. Headstands are invigorating and focusing while shoulder stands are quieting and cooling.
• Back bends are exhilarating, energizing, invigorating and refreshing, they increase our vitality and keep us young. They are the best anti-depression remedy!

The combination of back bends and inversions brings us to a Sattvic, pure and balanced state of mind.

Eyal Shifroni, one of the most senior Iyengar Yoga teachers in Israel, has practiced Yoga since 1978 and has taught Iyengar Yoga since 1985. He directs the "Iyengar Yoga Center of Zichron-Ya'akov" in Israel and conducts Yoga workshops in Israel and around the world. Eyal also loves to trek, and directs annual Yoga-treks - workshops of Yoga combined with hikes and treks in the Indian Himalayas!

Eyal has written articles about the practice and the philosophy of Yoga.

We hope you had a nice summer and managed through the difficult period we all experienced, whether you were in Israel or abroad.

It's that time of year again!!!! Below is the schedule for kids chugim. We encourage you to sign up as soon as possible.

Exciting NEW CLASS - Teen Hammock Yoga!!

There will be 2 sessions this year, each session has 16 classes.
First session begins September 11th - January 29th
Second session begins February 2nd - June 11th

Class days and times:
Chova - 2nd grade: Thursday at 16:30-17:15
3rd-4th grade: Thursday at 15:45-16:30
5th-6th grade: Thursday at 15:00-15:45
7th-8th grade: Monday 16:45-17:45
9th-12th grade: Monday 17:45-18:45
Teen Hammock Yoga (9th grade and up): Thursday at 17:30-18:30

Pricing:
45 minute class per session: 720nis
60 minute class per session: 800nis
Teen Hammock Yoga per session: 960nis

Since there are limited spots for Hammock Yoga spots are confirmed upon receipt of payment. Only 3 spots left!!

Policy regarding make-up classes:
7th grade and older can come to any of the adult yoga classes to make up classes they missed, not including Hammock Yoga.

Teen Hammock participants can make-up up to 2 classes per session with the adult Hammock Class, and are invited to regular adult yoga to make up additional classes missed.
