To remind- shaming in not acceptable in my forums

להלן מקרה קשה של מחלת עצמות מטבולית או MBD.
טגו בן כשנה וחצי הובא למרפאה. גודלו היה כשל טגו בן 4 חודשים, דבר המבטא עיכוב התפתחותי חריף.
הטגו הובא לתארגי עם מפרקים נוקשים, גפים קדמיות פשוטות לאחור ללא מרחב תנועה ורוטציה, לסתות כמעט נעולות ועינים עצומות.
בנוסף, גפים אחוריות הראו רעידות שרירים לא רצוניות.
במקרים רבים של פאתולוגיות בחיות אקזוטיות, חוסר העברת מידע מדויק מהמוכרים או מוסרים, על תנאי הגידול הנכונים, מובילים למחלות. במקרה הנוכחי הבעלים לא קיבלו מידע מדוייק על תנאי הגידול של הטגו.
במקרה הנוכחי מספר גורמים הובילו למצבו של הטגו:
- הכלוב עצמו היה מרווח אולם תאורת הUV מוקמה מעל 30-40 סמ' מרצפת הטרריום והתאורה לא היתה אפקטיבית.
- בשר חי ניתן פעמים רבות כמזון.
בארצנו בשר חי, אלא אם נקנה בכפרים או ערים ערביות, עובר הכשרה על ידי המלחה. בשר שכזה מסכן חיי בעלי חיים ואינו בריא, בנוסף לעובדה שהיה חסר עצמות משמע ללא סידן חיוני.
- סידן וויטמין D3 כנראה לא סופקו כראוי ולמעשה לא היו אפקטיבים בשל ריחוקה של תאורת הUV.
לעתים ניתן לטגו מזון מקופסאות שימורים. סביר שהיה עם חמרים משמרים וללא כמויות נדרשות של סידן וD3.
באותו אופן שMBD זו מחלה המתפתחת לאט ולאורך זמן, הטיפול בה ארוך ולעתים לא יניב תוצאות חיוביות.
הטגו קיבל שיכוכי כאבים בשל דלקות המפרקים, זריקות סידן, ומואכל לפיו במזון תואם עם תוספים.
בנוסף הונחה הבעלים לעשות לו פיזיותראפיה במים ולהקפיד על שיפור של כל תנאי הגידול וההאכלה הלקויים.
כל שנשאר לעשות זה להמתין ולקוות לשיפור והחלמה. בהצלחה.

This is a severe case of MBD (metabolic bone disease).
A 1.5 year tegu was admitted to the clinic.
It's size is similar to that of a 4 months old tegu. A severe malgrowth is evident.
Lethargic, it's joints are stiff, forelegs are rotated back with no possibility of free motion, jaws are almost locked and eyes are closed.
In addition, the hind limbs show frequents muscle involuntary tremors.
Sadly, like many pathological cases, the owner was not informed CLEARLY how to raise it.
From talking to the owner I realized that several major factors contributed to the Tegu's condition:
- The cage is perfect in its size however;
UV light was secured above 30-40 cm from the cage surface and was not effective.
- a raw meat without bones was provided as food.
In Israel meat should not be given to pets unless it is bought in Arab villages since it is Kosher. Meaning it's production involves large quantities of salts. Salt is BAD in these amounts to pets.
In additiom, the meat lacks Calcium and important Vitamins.
- calcium plus Vit D3 (CaD3) were not provided as needed and were not effective without an effective UV light.
- on ocassion, canned meat was given. Again, preservatives without the needed CaD3.
The development of MBD is slow, thus,
it's healing is very slow if possible.
The Tegu was provided with Calcium injections, painkillers and was fed to the mouth with appropriate food and supplements.
It would have some physiotherapy to his joints as well and force feeding of appropriate food.
Time would tell whether healing progress. Good luck.
