The Movement Sleeves – A Living Network Within Us
By Ilan Lev
Imagine an intricate network of highways within our body. Two main “movement sleeves” cross diagonally — one from the left foot to the right shoulder and through the right hand, and the other from the right foot to the left shoulder and out through the left hand. Along the way, countless smaller pathways branch off — through ears, joints, and tissues — reaching every “house” in the body. Each house is a living cell, a hub of metabolism and vibrant collaboration.
Unlike the defined meridian system in Chinese medicine, which maps 15 specific pathways with designated functions, our movement sleeves are infinite and ever-evolving. They are all deeply interconnected, and their presence depends on our use and awareness of them. It is not a fixed system, but a living one — activated through movement, attention, and intention.
Our responsibility is to awaken this vast network, to ignite vibrant flow — bringing nourishment to each cell, clearing waste, and allowing the sensory system to orchestrate a process far beyond the brain’s capacity to comprehend.
Inside the sleeves, movement spirals — because in nature, there is no other way forward but in spirals. (Continue in the comments below)
