SAKIT SA KIDNEYS: PAANO MALALAMAN??

Paano ba natin malalaman kung nasisira na ang kidneys?

1. Tingnan ang iyong risk factors - Kung mayroon kang diabetes o altapresyon (high blood pressure), kailangan mong bantayan maigi ang iyong kidneys. Ang diabetes at altapresyon ay nakasisira sa kidneys pagkaraan ng 5 taon pataas. Bantayan at i-kontrol ang antas ng iyong blood sugar at blood pressure. Magagawa mo ito sa pamamagitan ng diyeta, ehersisyo at pag-inom ng maintenance na gamot.

2. Huwag maghintay ng sintomas (symptoms) – Kadalasan ay walang nararamdaman ang mga taong may sakit sa kidneys. Kapag may kidney failure na, humihina na ang daloy ng ihi. Huwag nating paabutin sa ganitong kondisyon bago magpagamot.

3. Magpasuri ng Urinalysis - Makikita sa urinalysis kung may impeksyon, may dugo o may protina sa ihi. Kapag nag-positibo sa albumin (isang protina) sa urinalysis, ay maaaring may sakit na sa kidneys. Magpatingin sa isang kidney specialist.

4. Magpa-check ng Creatinine sa dugo – Kapag mataas ang iyong creatinine level, ang ibig sabihin ay posibleng may sira na ang iyong kidneys. Kadalasan ay tumataas lamang ang creatinine kapag may 50% damage ang kidneys. Huwag ito balewalain. Magpatingin agad sa doktor.

Para mapangalagaan ang iyong kidneys, sundin ang mga payong ito:
1. Bawasan ang alat sa pagkain.
2. Limitahan ang protina sa pagkain. Mas kumain ng isda, gulay at prutas.
3. Limitahan ang pag-inom ng pain relievers (gamot sa kirot). Huwag lalampas sa isang linggo ang pag-inom.
4. Uminom ng 8 basong tubig bawat araw.
5. Ang pinakamahalagang payo sa lahat: Uminom ng gamot para makontrol ang iyong altapresyon at diabetes. Kumonsulta sa doktor para malaman ang tamang gamutan sa iyo.
