Haggar Yulzary - Speech Pathologist and Audiologist

Haggar Yulzary - Speech Pathologist and Audiologist I am a Speech Pathologist that specializes in early intervention and child development. My clinic is located in Tel Aviv. I am a RAVE-O trained therapist.

My name is Haggar Yulzary, I am a certified Speech Language Pathologist. I completed my undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2007 and completed my Masters in Child Development at the University of Haifa in 2015. I specialize in early intervention and child development. My pediatric clinic provides assessment and treatment services for delays and disabilities in communication, speech, language and early introductory reading skills. I believe in a family-centered approach whereby parents are present and are involved in the therapy process. Therapy is most successful when a partnership is formed between the speech therapist and the parents and this partnership facilitates the continuation and generalization of the strategies acquired within therapy. I believe play is a 'child's days work' and through play my therapy goals are attained. Effective communication is fundamental to all aspects of daily life, particularly learning and social interaction. The development of such communication skills begins at birth. Families with infants or toddlers who are at risk for or have disabilities should receive developmentally supportive care that addresses a broad spectrum of concerns and needs. As an early intervention therapist I treat a broad spectrum of children that present with:

Autism Spectrum Disorders
Cerebral Palsy
Prematurity
Syndromes
Dyspraxia
Articulation Disorders
Language Delays
Language Disorders
Cognitive Impairments

I am fluent in both English and Hebrew. My clinic is situated in North Tel Aviv. Please feel free to contact me regarding any enquiry and or to make an appointment for an assessment and/or therapy. Work experience:

After completing my undergraduate degree in South Africa, I completed my community service year at the Coronation Pediatric Hospital in Johanessburg. Thereafter I made aliya to Israel and began worked at a hearing aid clinic for 7 years where I treated children and adults with hearing impairment. I worked at Tel Hashomer Child Development Center for 3 years in a multidisciplinary team. In addition I was a freelancer for Maccabi Health Care for 2 years and my private pediatric clinic has been running for 10 years. I am a Hanen Certified Therapist and have completed the world renowned "It Takes Two to Talk" programme. I completed my masters in Child Development at the University of Haifa. RAVE-O is a literacy programme that assists in Reading, Automaticity, Vocabulary, Engagement and Orthography. It is aimed for learners that present with early reading difficulties and are second language English speakers. Providing a language base that builds on vocabulary as well as reading fluency are one of the main focal points of this programme.

Language Enrichment Tip # 1 - Follow you child's lead!

FOLLOW THE CHILD'S LEAD IN CONVERSATIONS

Let children start the conversation and follow their lead by responding with interest to what they say. These kinds of conversations motivate children to talk and are associated with later academic success.
