How are problematic gaming, sleep quality, and social anxiety related for youth — and what role does physical activity play?
A recent cross-sectional survey study looked at adolescent and young adult e-sports players aged 14 to 24 who spent an average of 6 hours gaming per day. Research found that internet gaming disorder in these youth was positively associated with social anxiety and insomnia, and that engaging in physical activity was likely to lower the effects of these associations.
