Ohad lives with multiple sclerosis. As his disease progressed, the list of things he could do on his own grew shorter.

Today, with the support of UPnRIDE, that list is growing again.

For Raz Biran, Operational Manager at UPnRIDE, one of the unique challenges he's encountered while working at UPnRIDE is combining self-balancing technology with strict medical regulations. "We overcame it by forming a cross-functional team of engineers and regulatory experts who worked closely so innovation and compliance advanced together."

Together, Raz and his team have created a life-changing standing wheelchair that is designed for prolonged standing and mantaining one's center-of-gravity. Their determination changes the lives of those living with mobile disadvantages.

Reaching the top shelf for sugar. Embracing your spouse while standing. So often we take these blessings for granted.

After taking a bullet to the head and undergoing six head surgeries, Dror Kendelstein, 42, became limited in his mobile abilities. He could no longer hug his son while standing or stand tall as he used to.

"The new chair is a game-changer for me." With the push of a button and the shift of a joystick, Dror can move in ways he never thought possible again while sitting, standing, or reclining.

It is never too early to change the world.

11-year-old twins Eva and Amaira Deotale are the co-founders of Being Purple, a campaign that advocates for disability inclusion. Eva and Amaira recently gave a talk at TEDx Milton Keynes Youth, sharing their own experiences with a disabled father who, despite his limitations, has never lost his spark, humor, ability to work, and love for Eva and Amaira.

"Why do some people see disability as something negative? As something sad? The answer is barriers. Not always physical ones, but barriers in our heads. These are the beliefs we've grown up with or that society has passed on. And we know how wrong those beliefs are."

Eva and Amaira have raised money, written children's books on inclusivity, and designed two new chatbots that children and adults can use to learn about disability awareness and accessibility, as well as receive assistance in creating accessible travel plans. Let's strive to be like Eva and Amaira and make this world a happier and more inclusive world for all people.

We recently held a deeply moving ceremony to honor the memory of Staff Sergeant Yoav Feffer, an Israeli hero who fell in battle.

Together with his parents, Idit and Guy Feffer, and our dedicated team, we dedicated a memorial plaque on the UPnRIDE system as part of our partnership with the Next October initiative.

For us, the ability to stand represents strength, resilience, and freedom. We are honored to carry Yoav’s name on our technology, ensuring his legacy continues to move us forward, toward a future where we stand tall despite the pain.

May his memory be a blessing.

We’re proud to share that UPnRIDE’s smart robotic wheelchair is now in use at Reuth Tel Aviv Rehabilitation Hospital as part of a newly launched pilot program.

Developed in Israel, our motorized wheelchair enables users to move independently in a standing position and transition seamlessly between sitting, standing, and reclining modes. As part of the pilot, the UPnRIDE system will support physiotherapy treatments, help evaluate the benefits of standing mobility throughout the rehabilitation process, and generate valuable clinical feedback to guide ongoing development.

This collaboration was initiated by the Reuth Institute as part of its mission to promote innovation in rehabilitation care. We’re honored to partner with Reuth in advancing next-generation mobility solutions for patients and clinicians alike.

At UPnRIDE, we’re honored to be part of the Next October אוקטובר הבא initiative - an effort that harnesses Israeli innovation to commemorate the lives lost in the October 2023 Hamas war.

Through Next October, more than 1,400 Israeli startups are each dedicated to honoring the memory of a fallen soldier or civilian victim. UPnRIDE is humbled and honored to commemorate Staff Sergeant Yoav Feffer z״l, whose life, values, and legacy continue to inspire meaningful action.

As part of this initiative, we had the privilege of meeting Yoav’s parents, Idit and Guy Feffer, hearing Yoav’s story, and sharing our work with them, strengthening our commitment to carry his light forward through purpose-driven innovation.
