Vitiligo is a very common pigmentary disorder that has profound pyscho-socio-cultural impact on both patients and family members. I had done my thesis exploring this impact on family members at AIIMS, New Delhi.
Here is a young patient brought in by her worried grandfather to the clinic for treatment. A lot of myths and confusion revolves around vitiligo and it's treatment and a lot of dietary restrictions are adopted by the family to cure the disease.
This patient had a stable disease for past 2 year, but wasn't showing any repigmentation. This is the response after 2 months of medical treatment. She is still under regular followup, and now the grandfather feels relatively relieved.

Rosacea makes the skin extremely sensitive and therefore, many things can cause the flare. It's important to know the triggers and minimise them for better rosacea control.
Nowadays, we see a lot of woman who have been using OTC fariness creams, that causes rosacea like features due to presence of topical steroids in them.
Avoid the use of such creams to keep your skin healthy. Skin color can't be changed, it's determined by the genetics, and if something claims to do so, you should know that it comes at the expense of worsening your skin health.

It's very important that we maintain our nail hygiene, and especially take of these issues while going to a salon.
🤞🏻Regular usage of acrylic nails are associated with contact dermatitis. Post pedicure leg folliculitis and ingrown toe nails are quite commonly encountered problems at our clinic.

✅Always ensure the hands of the technician and the area are thoroughly disinfected.
✅Use SPF on your hands while getting acrylic nails done.
Shave after a pedicure to avoid skin infection.
❌Don't push or trim the cuticles, they are there for a reason, that is to protect your nails.
✅Cut your nails straight to avoid ingrown toe or finger nails.

35 year female presented to me with history of hives occuring after exposure to cold air, bathing with cold water both in summers and winters for past year.

A 55 year old patient presented with intense itching all over the body, and thick oozy lesions on sun exposed parts of the body. He has taken multiple treatment in the past without much improvement. Due to the disease, he was not able to work and was losing daily wages.
This is a case of Chronic Actinic Dermatitis, a type of eczema that involves the sun exposed area.

The results are with 3 weeks of medical treatment and sun protection. Patient is still under treatment and regular followup.

These are the pictures of a young girl with Tinea Faciei, taken one month apart with only medical treatment.

Tinea Faciei often presents as itchy lesions in face, with distinct margins, irritation and redness. Unfortunately, it is commonly treated with OTC anti fungal+ topical steroids+ anti bacterial agents which makes it all better for few days and then creates a havoc.

This is a medical condition, that requires treatment with right drugs at the right doses and duration. Keeping good hygiene is also of utmost importance.

PCOS is one of the most common endocrine disorders that affect woman of reproductive age group. And I am sure, all of you have heard and read about it and many of you must be diagnosed with it.

It is characterized by excessive androgen secretion (the male hormones) and hence, the imbalance ensues.

One of the most common symptoms are irregular menstrual (periods) cycles and features of increased androgen.
Not everyone will have all the symptoms and having all these symptoms doesn't necessarily mean you have PCOS.
It doesn't just affect obese females, lean females are also affected. So ladies, this is not the only reason for weight gain.

Acne, hair loss, oily scalp, acanthosis nigricans and hirsutism are the common skin symptoms patients come to us with. It is very important that a hormonal evaluation is done (laboratory and imaging) to rule out all possible causes, determine the diagnosis and get yourself treated. One of the most important treatment is weight loss. Even 1kg weight loss helps improve the symptoms drastically... Don't suffer in silence and get yourself treated 😊

The answer is NO.

Their use doesn't make your intimate areas clean or fresh. Clean va**na doesn't mean absence of odour or discharge, because some discharge and odour are also normal and physiological.
